TosetuptheAxisproduct,gotoAudio>AudioSettings.

AutoSpeakerTest

TheAutoSpeakerTestisatestthatcanbeinitiatedfromaremotelocationtoverifythatthespeakerisworkingasintended.The
speakerplaysaseriesoftesttonesthataremeasuredbythebuilt-inmicrophone.Theregisteredtesttonesaresavedasreference
valuestooptimizespeakerperformancetoitsspecicsurroundingsattheinstallationsite.

TheAutoSpeakerTestmustbecalibratedduringrsttimeusefromitsmountedpositionattheinstallationsite.Ifthespeakeris
movedorifitslocalsurroundingschange,forexample,ifawallisbuiltorremoved,thespeakershouldbere-calibrated.

Note

Duringcalibration,itisrecommendedthatsomeoneisphysicallypresentattheinstallationsitetolistentothetesttonesand
ensurethatthetesttonesarenotmufedorblockedbyanyunintendedobstructionsinthespeaker’sacousticpath.

TocalibratetheAxisproductandrunanAutoSpeakerTest,followtheinstructionsbelow:

1.GotoSetup>Audio>AudioSettings.

2.ClickCalibratetocalibrateAxisproductandruntherstAutoSpeakerTest.

ItisalsopossibletoruntheAutoSpeakerTestbypressingthecontrolbutton.SeeHardwareoverviewonpage6.

OncetheAxisproductiscalibrated,theAutoSpeakerTestcanberunatanytime:

1.GotoSetup>Audio>AudioSettings.

2.ClickTesttoruntheAutoSpeakerTest.

TosetuptheAutoSpeakerTestasanactionrule,seeSetUpActionRulesonpage22.

AudioModes

TheAxisproductsupportsthefollowingaudiomodes:

•Fullduplex–Simultaneoustwo-wayaudioallowingtheAxisproducttotransmitandreceiveaudioatthesametime.

Thereisnoechocancellation;iffeedbackloopsappear,trymovingthemicrophoneorthespeaker.

•Half-duplex–AudiocanbetransmittedtoandfromtheAxisproductbutonlyinonedirectionatatime.

•Simplex–Speakeronly-AudioistransmittedfromaclienttotheAxisproduct.Thisisthedefaultaudiomode.

•G726isanunlicensedspeechcodecthatismostcommonlyusedwithinthesecurityindustry.

TheSampleratedenesthenumberoftimespersecondthesoundissampled.Ahighersampleratewillprovidebetteraudio
quality,butalsorequiresagreaterbandwidth.

SettherequiredBitratedependingontheselectedencoding.Ahigherbitratewillgivebetteraudioquality.Alowerbitrate
mayhavelatencyordelay,butwillrequirelessbandwidth.

Audioclipscanbeplayedwhenaneventoccurs.AudioclipsarecreatedbyuploadingasoundletotheAxisproduct.Toadd,play,

download,modifyorremoveaudioclips,gotoAudio>AudioClips.Formoreinformationseetheonlinehelp

•Add–Toaddanaudioclip,clickAdd,selecttheUploadradiobuttonandclickBrowse.Navigatetothedesiredle
andclickUploadtouploadtheaudioclip.
