ToaccesstheAxisproduct,youmustsetthepasswordforthedefaultadministratoruserroot.ThisisdoneintheCongureRoot
Passworddialog,whichopenswhentheproductisaccessedforthersttime.

Topreventnetworkeavesdropping,therootpasswordcanbesetviaanencryptedHTTPSconnection,whichrequiresanHTTPS
certicate.HTTPS(HypertextTransferProtocoloverSSL)isaprotocolusedtoencrypttrafcbetweenwebbrowsersandservers.The
HTTPScerticateensuresencryptedexchangeofinformation.SeeHTTPSonpage39.

Thedefaultadministratorusernamerootispermanentandcannotbedeleted.Ifthepasswordforrootislost,theproductmustbe
resettothefactorydefaultsettings.SeeResettofactorydefaultsettingsonpage51.

Tosetthepassword,enteritdirectlyinthedialog.

SetPowerLineFrequency

PowerlinefrequencyissetthersttimetheAxisproductisaccessedandcanonlybechangedfromPlainCong(seepage51)
orbyresettingtheproducttofactorydefault.

Selectthepowerlinefrequency(50Hzor60Hz)usedatthelocationoftheAxisproduct.Selectingthewrongfrequencymaycause
imageickeriftheproductisusedinuorescentlightenvironments.

Whenusing50Hz,themaximumframerateislimitedto25fps.

Note

Powerlinefrequencyvariesdependingongeographicregion.TheAmericasusuallyuse60Hz,whereasmostotherpartsof
theworlduse50Hz.Localvariationscouldapply.Alwayscheckwiththelocalauthorities.

Thecontrolsandlayoutoftheliveviewwindowmayhavebeencustomizedtomeetspecicinstallationrequirementsanduser
preferences.Consequently,someoftheexamplesandfunctionsfeaturedheremaydifferfromthosedisplayedinyourownliveview

ActionButtons.

TheAudioclipdrop-downlistallowsyoutoplayanaudioclipfromtheliveviewwindow.Selectthe
audioclipandclickthePlaybutton.

Theproduct’sfaniscontrolledbytheambienttemperatureandisturnedonandoffautomatically.If
required,thefancanbeactivatedmanuallybyclickingtheFanbutton.Toshowthebutton,goto
Setup>LiveViewCong.UnderActionButtons,selectShowfanbuttonandspecifythenumberof
minutesthefanshouldbeactivated.

Theproduct’sheateriscontrolledbytheambienttemperatureandisturnedonandoffautomatically.
Ifrequired,theheatercanbeactivatedmanuallybyclickingtheHeaterbutton.Toshowthebutton,
gotoSetup>LiveViewCong.UnderActionButtons,selectShowheaterbuttonandspecifythe
numberofminutestheheatershouldbeactivated.

3.FromtheTriggerdrop-downlist,selectInputSignal.

canbespeciedintheAMCControlPanel.EnablethisbuttonfromLiveViewCong>ViewerSettings.

AMCAudioControls

AMCaudiobuttonscontrolthespeakersandmicrophoneconnectedtotheclientcomputer.Thebuttonsareonlyvisiblewhen
audioisenabled.

Speakerbutton—Clicktoturnthespeakersonoroff.

Microphonebutton–Clicktomuteorunmutethemicrophone.InSimplex-speakeronlymode,theMicrophoneandTalk

buttonsmustbothbeactivetosendaudiototheAxisproduct.Clickeitherbuttontostopaudiotransmission.

Usetheslidertocontrolthevolumeofthespeakersandthemicrophone.

Half-duplexmode

TheTalk/Listenbuttonisusedtoswitchbetweensendingandreceivingaudio.Thebuttoncanbecongured
fromtheAudiotabintheAMCControlpanel:

Simplex–speakeronlymode

Tosendaudio,theTalkandMicrophonebuttonsmustbothbeactive.Clickeitherbuttontostopaudio
transmission.

•Push-To-Talkmode:Clickandholdthebuttontotalk/send.Releasethebuttontolisten.

•Togglemode:Clickoncetoswitchbetweentalkingandlistening.

PTZControls

Note

ThesecontrolsareavailableifdigitalPTZisenabledintheselectedviewarea,seeViewAreaonpage19.

ClicktheEmulatejoystickmodebuttonandclickintheimagetomovethecameraviewinthedirectionofthe
mousepointer.

ClicktheCentermodebuttonandclickintheimagetocenterthecameraviewonthatposition.

Thecentermodebuttoncouldalsobeusedtozoominonaspecicarea.Clickintheimageanddragtodrawa

H.264can,withoutcompromisingimagequality,reducethesizeofadigitalvideolebymorethan80%comparedwiththeMotion
JPEGformatandasmuchas50%morethantheMPEG-4standard.Thismeansthatmuchlessnetworkbandwidthandstoragespace
arerequiredforavideole.Orseenanotherway,muchhighervideoqualitycanbeachievedforagivenbitrate.
