Repaintingmadeonthisproduct,whicharenotapprovedbyAxisCommunicationsAB,willvoidAxisproductwarranty.Thus,Axis
CommunicationsABonlywarrantstheAxisproductinitsoriginalform.
Ifrepaintingneverthelessismade,thefollowingconditionsandinstructionsarerecommended:
•Anyandallstandardprecautionsshouldbetakentobackupdatathatisbusinesscritical.
•TheprocedureofrepaintingwillnotbesupportedbyAxistechnicalsupport.
•Thepurposeofdisassemblingandreassemblingtheproductistorepaintonly.
•Thedisassemblingandreassemblingiscarriedoutinaprofessionalandcarefulmanneranddoesnotintervenewith
normaloperationoftheproducts.
Inaddition,theproductperformancemayalsodeteriorateduetotherepaintingaccordingtothefollowing,non-exhaustive,list:
•Paintaddsweighttotheproduct,thereforespeedandaccelerationmaybeaffected.
•Darkercolorsabsorbmoresunlight.Thetemperaturespecicationoftheproductmaybelimited.
•Increasedfrictioninthejointsoftheproductincreasesstrainandmayaffectthelifetimeexpectancy.
•Anypaintusedmustbecompatibleandnon-damagingtoplastics[andglass?SåstårdetIlistannedan.
•TheAxislabelwiththeproductpartnumberandserialnumbermustbeclearandlegibleatalltimes.
•Repaintingmayonlybedonetothecasingand/orstandoftheproduct.Undernocircumstancesmaybubblesand/or
lensesberepainted.
•Repaintingmaychangethetolerancesinthemechanicsandobstructtheassemblyoftheproduct.

Riskswithrepainting
ThereareseveralriskswhendisassemblingorassemblinganAxisproduct.Thereisalwaysacertainyieldlossduringassembly.
Trainingofoperatorsandtheuseofcorrecttoolsmediatessomeoftheproblemsbuttheycanneverbefullyavoided.Some
oftherisksarelistedbelow:
ESDDamage-AlwayshandletheproductinanESDsafeenvironment.EvenifprecautionsaretakenthereisalwaysariskofESD
damage.Thedamagecanremainundetectedandcauseproblemsduringthelifetimeoftheequipment.
Dustcontamination-Openingacameramayexposethelensandsensortodustorpaint;dustwillaffecttheopticalperformance.
Lensesneedtobedisassembledinadust-freeenvironment,preferablyacleanroom.
Paintoverspray-Maskingofthedifferentcomponentsoftheequipmentiscritical.Failuretomasksensitiveareascouldcause
problemswithassemblingtheequipment.Anyareasthatarenotpaintedfromfactoryorhaveadifferentsurfacetreatmentthanthe
restofthepart(threads,groundandelectricalcontactsurfaces)mustalsobemaskedtoensurefunction.
