ON/OFF button function
Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 3 seconds to switch on the tuner  The display will illuminate completely and then enter the tuning mode (whichever has been previously selected)  Press the ON/OFF button momentarily to scroll through the tuning modes (instrument types)  Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 3 seconds to switch the tuner off.  If no buttons are pressed and no tuning vibrations detected for 3 minutes, the tuner will power down automatically
Tuning
Switch on and select the correct mode for the instrument that requires tuning (see above)  Clip the tuner onto the instrument where it can pick up vibrations (e.g. on the headstock)  Rotate the display so that it can be seen during tuning adjustment  Play a note and check that the display to see if a note is detected  If no note is detected, adjust the tuning on the instrument or move the clip to another position until a note is detected  Adjust the tuning on the instrument until the required note is indicated (display shows string number and musical note)  Tuning accuracy is displayed via a virtual needle which is to the left when the note is flat and to the right when it is sharp  When the note is exactly in tune, the needle points to the centre and the backlight changes colour to green.  Repeat the tuning process for all strings and repeat again if strings need settling in or stretching
