OPERATING YOUR FREEZER
Temperature Control (MODEL VM165 – ONLY)
Temperatu re Sele cto r (MODEL VM165 – ONLY)
The temperature control is located on the front side of the cabinet.
The first time you turn the unit on set th e tem perature control t o the “SUPER” position. ( you ma y
use a coin or flathead screwdriver.)
After 4 hours, move the control to the MAX setting.
The range of the tem peratu re contro l is from position" MIN" th e warm est to “ SUPER” the coldest. After 24 to 48 hours, adjust the tem perature control t o the setting that best s uits your needs. The setting of “NORM” should be correct for home or office freezer use.
NOTE:
If the unit is unplugged, power lost, or turned off; you must wait 3 to 5 minutes before
restarting the unit. If you attempt to restart before this time delay, the freezer will not start.
Defrosting Your Freezer
When? For the most efficient operation and minimum energy consumption, defrost the appliance compartment when the frost on the appliance walls is excessive or ¼ inch thick.
A few hours before defrosting set the thermostat to position MAX, so foods are well frozen.
Disconnect the power supply.
Remove the frozen food from the appliance and place it in a cooler to protect the food.
Leave the door open for a while so that you can easy scrape off the frost.
Use a plastic scraper but be careful not to damage the inner surfaces of the freezer.
Wipe up the scraped frost and ice before it is completely defrosted.

Do not use boiling water because it may damage the plastic parts. In addition, never use a
sharp or metallic instrument to remove frost as it may damage the cooling coils and will void the warranty. We recommend using th e plastic scraper.

The condenser coils should be vacuumed when they are dusty or dirty.
It is recommended that the unit be cleaned each time it is defrosted to help keep the unit odor free
and running efficiently.
Power Failure
Most power failures are c orrected within a few hours and should not affect the tem perature of your appliance if you m inim i ze the number of times the door is ope ned . If the po w er is go ing t o be off for a longer period of time, you need to take the proper steps to protect your food.

Be sure to wrap foods pro perly, and wipe containers dry before plac ing them in the appliance. This cuts down on frost build-up inside the appliance.
Appliance storage bin should not be lined with aluminum foil, wax paper, or paper toweling. Liners interfere with cold air circulation, making the appliance less efficient.
Organize and label food to reduce door openings and extended searches. Remove as many items as needed at one time, and close the door as soon as possible.
Try not to open the door too often, especially when the weather is wet and hot.
Every so often check if the appliance is sufficiently ventilated.
Ice and frost layer increas e energy consumption, so clean t he appliance as soon as the la yer is
¼” thick.
