INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Before Using Your Refrigerator

• Remove the exterior and interior packing.

• Check to be sure you have all of the following parts:

• Before connecting t he unit to the power source, let i t stand upright for approxim ately 2 hours. This will reduce the possibility of a malfunction in the cooling system from handling during transportation.

• Clean the interior surface with lukewarm water using a soft cloth.

Installation of Your Refrigerator

• This appliance is designed to be for free standing installation, recessed or built-in (fully recessed).

• Place your Appliance on a floor that is str ong enough to supp ort it when it is full y loaded. To level your Appliance, adjust the front levelin g legs at the bottom of the Appliance.

• Locate the Appliance away from dir ect sunlight and sour ces of heat (stove, heater, radiator, etc.). Direct sunligh t may affect the acr ylic coating and heat sourc es may increase electr ical consumption. Extreme cold ambient temperatures may also cause the unit not to perform properly.

• Plug the Appliance into an exclusive, properly installed-grounded wall outlet. Do not under any circumstances cut or remove the third (ground) prong from the power cord. Any questions concerning power and/or grounding should be directed toward a certified electrician or an authorized Avanti Products s ervice cen ter .

• Avoid locating the refrigerator in moist areas. Too much moisture in the air will cause frost to form quickly on the evaporator requiring more frequent defrosting of the refrigerator.

REVERSING THE DOOR SWING OF YOUR REFRIGERATOR

This refrigerator-fr eezer has the capabilit y of the doors opening from either the left or right side. T he unit is delivered to you with the doors opening f rom the left side. Should you desire to re verse the opening direction, please call service for reversal instructions.

INSTALLING STAINLESS STEEL HANDLE

This appliance includes a stainless-steel handle that is not required to operate this unit. To install the handle pleas e follow the be lo w instruc ti on s:

1. Pull away the door gasket in the area where the handle is to be installed as shown in Illustration. The gasket is easily displaced by hand, no tools are neces s ar y.

2. Locate the screws included in the bag with the user’s guide. Insert the screws into the holes as shown.

3. Al ign the han dl e with the scr ews insta lle d. Tighten the screws using a Phillips head screwdriver until the handle sets both flush and secured tightly against the door frame. (DO NOT over tighten as this will cause damage to the handle assembly).

4. Replace the door gasket to its original position.

DOOR LOCK

Your unit is provided with a lock and key combination. The keys are located inside the plastic bag that contains the User’s Guide. Insert the key into the lock and turn it counterclockwise to unlock the door. To lock the door do the reverse operation making sure metal pin is engaged completely. Remove the key and place it in a secure place for safekeeping.

CASTER INSTALLATION

1) Remove everything from inside the cabinet and lay the unit on a clean, dry, and padded surface.

2) Install the casters into the holes on the bottom of the unit and tighten with a Phillips head screwdriver.

3) The (2) two casters equipped with brakes / locks should be installed on the front of the unit.

4) Once all four casters are installed, carefully return the unit to the upright position.

5) Allow the unit to sit in the upright position for 8 – 10 hours to allow the refrigerant to settle before plugging in and turning the unit on.

OPERATING YOUR REFRIGERATOR

ON/OFF POWER

To turn the appliance ON / OFF, touch the POWER button or mark and hold for 5 seconds.

SETTING THE TEMPERATURE CONTROL

• You can set the temper ature as you des ire by pr essing the SET button an d then touching th e UP or DOWN mark. When you touch the two marks for the first time, the LED reado ut will show the original temperature set at previous time 。

• The temperature that you desir e to set will incre ase 1º F or 1ºC if you touch the UP m ark onc e, on the contrary the temperature will decrease 1ºF or 1ºC if you touch the DOWN mark once.

• The temperature inside the unit will be appear ed in the displ a y windo w.

NOTE:

• If the unit is unplugged, power lost, or turned off, you must wait 3 to 5 m inutes before restarting

the unit. If you attempt to restart before this time delay, the appliance will not start.

• When you use the appliance for the first time or restart the appliance after having been shut off for

a long time, there cou ld be a few degr ees variance betw een the t em perature you s elect and t he one indicated on the LED readout. This is n ormal and it is due to t he length of the activatio n time. Once the appliance is running for a few hours everything will be back to normal.

INTERIOR LIGHT

Model: OR51Z3SSN When you open the door, the light will turn ON automatically. When you close the door, the light will turn OFF automatically. There is also a light switch located on the control panel which will allow you to turn the light on/off while the door is open.

To change the way the temperature is displayed in the control panel from ºF to ºC, simply press the power button marked

Door Ajar Alarm (Model OR51Z3SSN ONLY)

If the door has been left open for more than 60 seconds, an alarm will sound and continue to sound until any of the buttons on the control panel is pressed or the door is closed.

Temperature Alarm

If at any time the inner temperature of the unit raises above safe levels, an alarm will sound prompting the user to check for the reason for the temperature issue. Temperatures higher than 86ºF/30ºC or lower than 5ºF/-15ºC wil l act iv ate the al a rm . Possible reasons could be: Warm fresh food / drinks were placed in the unit. Too much warm ambient air has entered the unit when the door has been left open for too long. Power Failure for a long time. The appliance is having technical issues and should be evaluated by an authorized tech.

Defrosting Your Refrigerator

When? For the most efficient operation and minimum energy consumption, defrost the freezer compartment when the frost on the refrigerator walls is excessive or ¼ inch thick.

There is no need to defros t the refrigerator compartment, becaus e ice depositing on the inner back wall is defrosted automatically. Ice may deposit on the inner back wall during the compressor operation; later, when the compr essor is not operat ing the ice will def rost and the water drops col lect and drain through the outlet in the inner back wall into the drain pan situat ed above the com pressor, from where is evaporates.

How?

• Press and hold the UP-ARROW button for (6) six seconds.

• The defrost icon will light up on the control panel indicating it is in defrost mode.

• Remove the frozen food from the refrigerator and place it in a cooler to protect the food.

• Once the defrost icon is tur ned of f and the app liance h as beg un to cool again, wait f or the u nit to

start cooling and then replace all food and beverages.

CAUTION: Do not use boiling water because it may damage the plastic parts. In addition, never use a sharp or metallic instrument to rem ove frost as it may damag e the cooling coils and will void the warranty. We recommend using a plastic scraper.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Cleaning the Refrigerator

• Turn the unit off, unplug the unit, and remove the food and baskets.

• Wash the inside with a warm water and baking soda solution. The solution should be about 2

tablespoons of baking soda to a quart of water.

• Wash the baskets with a mild detergent solution.

• The outside of the unit should be cleaned with mild detergent and warm water.

CAUTION: Failure to unplug the refrigerator could result in electrical shock or personal injury.

Power Failure

Most power failures are corrected within a few ho urs and should not aff ect the temperature of your refrigerator-free zer if you m inimize the number of times the door is opened. If the p o wer is g oi ng t o be off for a longer period of time, you need to take the proper steps to protect your food.

Vacation Time

Short vacations: Leave the unit operating during vacations of less than three weeks. Long vacations: If the refrigerator will n ot be used for sev eral months, remove all food and unplug

the power cord. Clea n and dry the interi or thoroughly. To pr event odor and m old growth, leave the door open slightly: blocking it open if necessary

Moving Your Refrigerator

• Remove all the food.

• Securely tape down all loose items inside your unit.

• Turn the leveling screws up to the base to avoid damage.

• Tape the doors shut.

• Be sure the unit stays in the upright position during transportation.

Energy Saving Tips

• The unit should be located in the coolest area of the room, away from heat producing refrigerators or heating ducts, and out of direct sunlight.

• Let hot foods cool to room temperature before placing them in the unit. Overloading the unit forces the compressor to run longer. Foods that freeze too slowly may lose quality, or spoil.

• Be sure to wrap foods properly, and wipe containers dry before placing them in the unit. This cuts down on frost build-up inside the freezer.

• Organize and label food to reduce door openings and extended searches. Remove as many items as needed at one time, and close the door as soon as possible.
