Installation Instructions

Thank you for choosing an Australian Monitor Installation Series ATC5488 tone generator module. The
ATC5488 generates four tones. These are Evacuation and Alert Tones, both to AS2220.1.2 (Australian)
standards, as well as a Bell Tone and a Pre Announce Chime. Installation into compatible Australian Monitor
Installation Series mixersor amplifiers is made simple by utilising a standard ‘end’type connector plug,which
plugs into a receptacle insidethe mixeror amplifier.Please followthese easy instructions for installation.

The installation of the ATC5488 involves access to the inside of the mixer or amplifier.
Installation should only be attempted by aqualified technician.Always turn offAC power and
remove the AC power cord before attempting to access the inside of any Australian Monitor
Installation Series mixer or amplifier.

For installation into anIC30 amplifier:

to the left of the heat sink when looking from the front panel. Connect the module to this receptacle, ensuring
that the orange wire onthe connectoris at the right hand end of theconnector receptacle.

For installation into an SAseries amplifier:

PCB between the Ch 6 pot and the bass pot. Connect the module to this receptacle, ensuring the orange wire on
the connector is at theright handend of the connector receptacle when viewed fromthe frontpanel.

For installation into a TX6000 or TX8000 mixer:

the Ch 5 pot on the mixer PCB. Connect the module to this receptacle, ensuring that the orange wire on the
connector is at the righthand endof the connector receptacle when viewed from thefront panel.

For installation into an AMC series amplifier :

middle of the mixer PCB. Connect the module to this receptacle, ensuring that the orange wire on the connector
is at the right handend ofthe connector receptacle when viewed from the frontpanel.

The ATC5488 module is supplied with double sided adhesive enabling the module to be permanently attached
to the chassis or under the lid of your mixer or amplifier. On selected mixers and amplifiers, spare screw
terminals on the rear panel allow the activation wires from the ATC5488 to be connected to the back panel for
easy external connection to switchesor atimer.

Connection to amplifier: Orange - Output

Black - Ground

Blue - Mute switch

Red - DC Supply (Min. 12VDC, Max. 18VDC)

Connections to activate tones: Black - Common

White - Evacuation tone

Yellow - Bell Tone

Purple - Alert Tone

Blue - Pre Announce Chime

NOTE:

ATC5488 and works in an anti-clockwise fashion ie, turning it fully clockwise will completely attenuate the
signal output whilst turning itfully anti-clockwisewill allow full signal though to the amplifierstage.

Note that the trim pot located in position R10 on the ATC5488 module attenuates the level out of the
