GT8 x 2 Instruction Sheet

Introduction:

Well done for purchasing a hand-built, eight channel, two bus Absolute line mixer. The Absolute line of
small mixers differs from our normal Class A discrete transistor products because we don't want these mixers
to add any artifacts to the sound of the GTM822. We want the sound to be as pure as possible... hence the
term Absolute.

Unpacking Instructions:

Carefully remove the unit from the custom foam packing. The power supply works from any ac voltage from
85 volts to 240 volts, 50 and 60Hz.

Operating Guide:

The mixer has electronically balanced line level inputs and outputs. The channels have approximately 10dB
level in hand (gain) in their red input level knobs.

The blue output knobs are 0dB gain at full clockwise rotation.

All connections are electronically balanced and are via TRS 1/4” jack sockets. There are also two unity gain
DIRECT INPUTS to the stereo bus that are used when cascading two or more GT8 x 2 Absolute line mixers
to make 16, 24, 32, etc., channels. The MIX OUTPUT of one unit plugs into the DIRECT INPUT of the next.
All output knobs, except those for Channels 1 – 8 are set at maximum.

The normal application of the GT8 x 2 Absolute line mixer is to return the eight outputs of the GT8 x 8
Absolute line mixer, post whatever effect is used, to the Stereo Effects Return input path of the GTM822 that
feeds the stereo busses via a level pot and cut switch. The GT8 x 2 Absolute line mixer can also be used to
expand the number of input channels to the GTM822, albeit with just level and pan controls, or the GT8 x 2

Absolute line mixer can be used as a “stand-alone” mixer....

E.G. a 24 channel x 2 O/P mixer will fit in 19” x 3U.

Warranty: ONE YEAR PARTS AND LABOR LIMITED WARRANTY

Aurora Audio International warrants this Absolute unit against defects in workmanship for a period of one
year and parts for a period of one year from receipt by the original end user. This warranty shall not apply to
damage resulting from misuse including water damage, in-transit damage, fire damage, improper
maintenance, dropping the unit and operation or storage outside the environmental specification for the
product.

Do not try to repair this Absolute. Only qualified Aurora Audio International technicians are authorized to
repair this unit. WARRANTY VOID IF CASE IS OPENED
