1. Introduction
1.1 Important Info rma tio n
It is suggested that you us e a roo f top aerial when scanning for TV cha nne ls for the first time, if any signal is detected, the channel informati on wi ll be s aved on your computer, you may then switch back to the p ort abl e antenna supplied and change your location to f ind t he be st place to receive the signal.
Please note the include d por tab le antenna may only be used in areas where signal is ve ry st rong. As me ntioned on the Freeview website, onl y som e households might be able to use a set top aerial. This only applies if you live in an ar ea wi th coverage close to a trans mit ter, but reception would still be unreliable and they str ong ly re commend that you use a roof top aerial for good recep tio n.
The reception will impr ove a lon g with the progress of the Digital Switchover Pr ogr am. Reception may also be affected by various factors s uch a s how c lose you are to transmitters, tall buildings, thick w all s, ce ilings and weather etc.
Note:
1. This product is portable but not suitable for use when travel ling at high speeds.
2. When you use th e scheduled record functio n, real-time record ing or time shifting, please make sure th at you have sufficient hard disk space to save the data.
3. In order to operate this device pr operly, please follow the user manual and suggested setup. Improper operation may cause your system to become uns table or crash. Before removing the TV receiver or any other device, please check that all related app lications have been closed .
4. We res erve the right to amend the application and its functi ons. All newly released drivers and applications will be uploaded to our website.

3. How to install Driver and Software
3.1 Driver Installation
Step 1: Insert the dev ice i nto y our c omputer’s U SB po rt
and connect it to your roof top a eri al as shown in “Hardware Connec tio ns” o n page 3.

- Windows XP & Vista users For Windows XP and Vista users, the “Foun d New H ardware Wizard” wil l now a ppe ar on your screen, please select “Cancel”.

Step 2: Insert the sof twa re CD s upplied, an auto-play window should appear on you r scr een . Click “Driver Install” if the screen appears, if n ot th en ru n the file Driver\ setup.exe directly fr om th e sof tware CD.
Step 3: Click “Next” to con tin ue th e installation.
Step 4: Click “Update”.

Step 5: Click “Finish” to completely install the Driver Software.

Step 6: To check that the device has installed properl y navigate to your contro l pan el, s elect “System”-> “Hardware”-> “De vic e Man ager”, and you will see a new item “IT9315 BDA Device ” onc e the driver is successf ull y ins talled.
Note:
If it has not appeared in Dev ice M ana ger after installation, please attempt re-ins tal lat ion.
3.2 Software Installation
Step 1: Click “Softw are I nst all”.

5. Frequently Asked Questions
5.1 I can not find any cha nne ls af ter th e auto scan.
Please check the status o f the F ree view switchover in your area. If you have been unable to us e a roo fto p aerial, it may help to reposition the mi ni- ant enna and rescan, either by a window or on a metal radia tor /ca r roof can improve reception strength. Check that the aerial is pr ope rly a ttached to the device. Check that the correct co unt ry is s elected in the Total Media scan settings. Re-scanning thro ugh a n upd ated rooftop aerial may help to locate the required Fr eev iew s ignal settings.
5.2 I do not have a roof top aerial, can I use a portab le aerial?
You can connect a portable ae ria l to th e device, please be aware though that a rooft op ae ria l is advised for the best results.
5.3 The device gets perfect pictures when plugged into my roof top aerial, but no picture at all using the small antenna provided.
Please note the include d por tab le antenna may only be used in areas where Freeview si gna l is very strong. As mentioned on the Freeview website, s ome h ouseholds receiving a strong signal will be able to use a se t top a eri al. Th is only applies if you live in a coverage area c los e to a tr ansmitter, but reception could still be unreliab le an d Fre eview strongly recommend to use a rooftop aerial for go od re cep tion. Reception may be affected by various factors such as proximit y to tr ans mitters, tall building structu res , thi ck walls, ceilings, weather etc.
5.4 The TV picture keeps freezing and/or some TV channels are missing.
Below are some possi ble r eas ons of poor Freeview reception, for more information pl eas e vis it http://www.f reeview.co .uk / help:
- Local factors such as pro xim ity t o transmitters, tall buildings tructures, thick wall s, ce ili ngs, weather etc.
- Freeview suggest a b oos ter m ay be useful to improve the signal strength, if you r roo ftop aerial is connected to several TVs/Videos, as splitting the aer ial ( RF) c able to serve several appliances can weaken t he si gna l.
- If your aerial has served y ou we ll for a number of years and you're not seeing a clear p ict ure , it might just be old or have taken a beating from the we ath er, you may need to get your aerial updated. Also, in some p art s of th e country Freeview signals use a different frequency or transmi tte r to th e one you normally use for your ana log ue reception.
- If you are using a set top aeri al, t her e may be diffic ult ies i n receiving TV sig nal with a portable antenna in some regions. As mentioned on the Freev iew w ebsite, some households receiving a strong sign al wi ll be a ble to use a set top aerial. This only applies if you li ve in a c ove rage area close to a transmitter, b ut re ception could still be unreliable and Freeview strongl y rec omm end t o use a rooftop aerial for good reception.
5.5 The Teletext function does not work.
This device is designed f or th e Eur opean standard of digital broadcasting. The UK use a slightly different broadcast signal which is why Tel ete xt is not available on this unit and why we do not market this functi on.

5.6 There is no l ight on the device, is it faulty?
There is no light on this dev ice , the s mall window is the IR receiver used by the remo te co ntr ol.
5.7 I can get pictures but no sound.
Please check that your so und c ard i s properly installed and that the volume setting s are c orr ect.
5.8 Remote control does not working.
Check if TMMonitor has been installed proper ly, please refer to page12 Step10. Go to the “Control Panel” o n you r com puter, select “System” -> “Hardw are ” -> “D evice Manager”, check whether Infrared R ece ive r has b een successfully installed, if not it will s how a w arn ing symbol “?”, please then try to reinst all t he dr iver. Check the remote contro l's b att ery. Please make sure you are wi thi n 5m fr om the USB TV Receiver. The remote control relies on direct line of sigh t to th e receiver, p lea se ch eck that there is nothing between the remote and the USB stick. Windows Vista or 7 users can use the Windows Media Centre to watch TV, however please note the supplied remote control is desig ned t o work with Total Media, and will not work with Windows Media C ent re or o ther software.
5.9 The TV some time freezes or slows down.
Freezing whilst watch ing TV indicates a system resource problem, it most often oc cur s you r PC does not meet the recommended system re qui rem ents and if your VGA dr ive r is not properly installe d or up dat ed. We also recommend that you close all other program mes w hil st watching or recording TV.
6. Warranty
This product is guaranteed for twelve months from the date of the original purchase. In the unlikely event of any defect arising due to faulty materials or workmanship, the unit will be either replaced or repaired free of charge (where possible) during this period. An alternative product will be offered in case the product is no longer available or repairable.
This warranty is subject to the following conditions: The warranty is only valid within the country where the product is purchased. The product must be correctly installed and operated in accordance to the instructions given in this user manual. The product must be used solely for domestic purposes. The warranty only covers the main unit, and does not cover the accessories. The warranty does not cover the damage caused by misuse, negligence, accident and natural disaster. The warranty will be rendered invalid if the product is resold or has been damaged by inexpert repairs. The manufactures disclaim any liability for incidental or consequential damages. Please consult our customer adviser before returning any product; we are not responsible for any unexpected product returns. Any faulty product must be kept and returned in the original packaging with all the accessories and the original copy of the purchase receipt.
The warranty is in addition to, and does not diminish, your statutory or legal rights.
