Audix A133 Specifications

A133
LARGE DIAPHRAGM CONDENSER MICROPHONE WITH PAD AND ROLL OFF
OVERVIEW
The A133 is a large diaphragm condenser microphone ideal for vocals, choir, piano, acoustic instruments and overheads. Featuring a contemporary, compact design, the A133 is the perfect choice for podcasting, professional audio production, studios and live stage performances.
A double woven steel mesh grille and ultra-thin acoustic foam oers exceptional pop resistance for podcasting and vocals. Behind the grille, the open-air design of the capsule mounting system allows the A133 to deliver transparent, uncolored sound.
Proprietary impedance control between the capsule and circuitry ensures consistent and reliable performance across a wide range of environments.
A unique and highly eective internal shock mount isolates the capsule from mechanical vibrations and touch noise, eliminating the need for a bulky external shock mount.
The switchable 10 dB pad and bass roll-o ensures you’re ready for any recording or live performance situation.
Oering studio performance in a road-worthy package, the A133 also comes with a protective zippered carrying case.
Requires 48-52 V phantom power. For best results, the A133 should be used with a high-quality mic preamplifier and microphone cable.

OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE

The A133 is a low impedance microphone and should be plugged into a “mic
level” input on your console, mixer, or recording device. The A133 requires phantom power and will NOT operate without phantom power voltage (48 Volts recommended) which is available on most professional mic preamps and mixing devices. If phantom power is not available on your equipment, use a phantom power supply such as the Audix APS2.
Avoid plugging or unplugging the microphone from a PA system unless the
channel is muted, or the volume of the system is turned down. Failure to do so may result in a loud “popping” noise which could seriously damage the speakers in the PA system or studio monitors.
The A133 is manufactured to exacting specs with road worthy construction.
However, the capsule is highly sensitive and should be handled with care.
Avoid extreme temperatures and be sure to store your microphone in the case
provided when not in use. Moisture of any kind can adversely aect the sound and performance of your microphone.
USER TIPS
The correct side: Note that the front of the microphone element is on the same side as the printing. This side of the microphone should be facing toward the sound source.
When using at close range or on instruments with high SPL, apply the 10 dB pad. If there is a need to reduce lower frequency vibrations, apply the low frequency roll-o.
