Settings
To install your PRE1 phono module please disconnect the PRE1 from the
mains. Carefully open the case. Please remove the four "jumpers" from
the pins near the inputs.
Your PRE1 is now ready to accommodate the phono module. Please set
the module on the dedicated pins and push it firmly down to the mountĀing bolts. Finally, mount the module using the four provided screws.
For further setting up please leave open the housing of your PRE1.
There are avrious kinds of turntable pick-ups. Your PRE1 phono module
will achieve the best results from every system, because the parameters
like input impedance and gain are settable independently and in a wide
range.
Please make sure which type of pick-up you use and which specifications
were recommended by the manufacturer. If any doubt stick to the settings
for "MM pick-ups".
MM pick-ups
The factory default settings of your PRE1 phono module are suitable for
most MC pick-ups: 58 dB, 110pF, 470
For MM pick-ups your phono module is to be set to a gain of 38dB. The
input resistance and capacity may vary.
Place the both jumpers in the middle of the module to position "38".
Input resistance and capacity can be set up by using the jumper arrays on
the left side of the module. The possible values are printed in clear onto
the module. For using 68kW input resistance please remove the correĀsponding jumpers.
