Placing
Setting up your system
Warning! Please read this manual prior to operating the AMP VII in order to avoid damage to your valuable equipment.
Also, please make sure all units of your audio/video system are switched off while connecting or disconnecting any cables to avoid damage of the input and/or output sections of your units.
The AMP VII is at present the most compact solution to drive loudspeakers with up to 7 channels providing highest signal quality and power. These are the ideal qualifications for running a sophisticated home cinema as well as achieving perfect musical enjoyment with multiĀchannel or stereo.
The compact design demands an unhindered transportation of the heat the unit produces during operation. Please make sure not to cover the AMP VII. Also, the microprocessor controlled fans at the bottom of the unit need an unblocked air flow to cool the unit sufficiently. Especially, do not place the AMP VII on any soft surface it can sink in like carpets. It is not recommended to operate the unit inside a closed compartment. Also make sure of a sufficient supply of fresh, preferably cool air.
Power connections
Mains phase recognition
Please connect both power jacks at the rear to the mains using the provided power cords. Using high quality power cords may increase sound quality. Please consult your local Audionet dealer!
The voltage specified at the rear of your AMP VII must match your mains specifications. The AMP VII is a Class I unit and has to be earthed.
The correct polarization of mains is important for reasons of audio clarity and stability. Please make sure that the "hot" pin of your mains is connected to the pins labelled "Phase" at your AMP VII.
The Audionet AMP VII indicates a wrong polarization of the mains lead. If you read: "Att.: Mainsphase Nr.1 incorrect!" when powering up, switch off the AMP VII and flip the plug in your wall outlet connected to mains jack labelled "MAINS 1".
If you read: "Att.: Mainsphase Nr.2 incorrect!" when powering up, switch off the AMP VII and flip the plug in your wall outlet connected to mains jack labelled "MAINS 2".

Inputs and outputs
Warning! For connecting or removing any units the AMP VII must be switched off.
Please make sure that all cables are in absolute best condition. Broken shields or short-cut loudspeaker cables could damage loudspeakers or the amplifiers!
Inputs
Speakers
At first please connect your pre amplifier to the inputs of your AMP VII. For audio input you can use balanced (XLR) as well as unbalanced (cinch) cables. For connections longer than 10 m we recommend balanced cables.
Please don't forget to activate the type of input you want to use in the setĀup menu.
Now connect your speakers to the gold plated output jacks of your AMP VII. You may use pure wires or "banana" plugs.
Check the polarization of the speakers cables:
Usually the speaker jacks are labelled "+" and "-". You will find the same label at your AMP VII.
Wrong polarization will lead to severe loss of sound quality!
The speaker impedance must not be less than 2W!
Though your AMP VII is effectively protected against shorted speaker jacks it has to be switched off while working on speakers and speaker cables!
Bi-Wiring
In case your speakers support bi-wiring, connect your speaker with two separate cables to each AMP VII module. Using the bi-wiring method to connect your speakers can lead to enhanced sound quality.
