The Emergency Survivability Failover Configuration is available with AudioCodes’ analog gateways
MediaPack 114 and 118. AudioCodes offers these models with the FXO port necessary for connecting the
analog POTS line.
The AudioCodes analog gateway MediaPack 114 or 118 connects to the POTS line from the telco provider on
its FXO port. The gateway is deployed in the customer LAN granting access to the Polycom VVX phones that
will be using the gateway for emergency survivability. The AudioCodes gateway must be configured either
using a configuration file or using the gateway’s element manager.
The details of the AudioCodes MediaPack gateways are available here.
Gateway configuration
The gateway must be configured manually by loading a prepared configuration file on the gateway’s element
manager or configured directly using the element manager GUI.
These are the steps for configuring the MediaPack 114 Gateway using the element manager GUI. Similar
steps are applicable for MediaPack 118.
• Navigate to VoIP / Network / IP Interfaces Table and set Index 0 to inside interface addressing; there is no need for an outside interface.
• Navigate to VoIP / GW and IP to IP / Hunt Group / Endpoint Phone Number to set phone number of FXO line and the channel
assignment of the FXO port on the back of the device.
» ***For this MP114, there are 2 FXS ports (1, 2) and 2 FXO ports (3, 4)***
• Navigate to VoIP / GW and IP to IP / Routing / Tel to IP Routing and set up one row for each phone that should ring for incoming calls on
the FXO line (transport type should be TCP and port number should match local SIP port). Be sure to enter the forking group “1” for each
entry so that all phones will ring simultaneously for 911 callback.
• Navigate to VoIP / GW and IP to IP / Routing / IP to Hunt Group Routing and set up row 1 as shown. You can restrict outbound to FXO
to only allow 911 by replacing “*” in the Dest. Phone Prefix table to 911 or any variation of patterns you want to allow versus “*” for all
destinations, depending on your needs.
• Navigate to VoIP / GW and IP to IP / Analog Gateway / Automatic Dialing and set port 3 as show below. “CO_Line” is just a marker to
allow for automatic dialing to occur when the FXO port receives an incoming call.
