14. Keep hands and feet away from cutting area.
15. Objects struck by the lawn mower blade can cause severe injuries to persons. The lawn should always be carefully examined and cleared of all objects prior to each mowing.
Battery Precautions
1. Do not charge appliance in rain, or in wet locations.
2. Do not use battery-operated appliance in rain.
3. Remove or disconnect battery before servicing, cleaning, or removing material from the lawn mower.
4. Only use identical replacement batteries.
5. Use only the following type and size battery: Atlas Li-ion 40V/80V.
17. Use identical replacement blades only.
18. Under normal usage, the grass catcher assembly is subject to deterioration and wear and should, therefore, be frequently checked for replacement. Any replacement assembly should be checked for compliance with original manufacturer’s recommendations or specifications.
19. Only use accessories and attachments that have been found to be acceptable for use with the lawn mower. Use of any other accessory or attachments might increase the risk of injury.
6. Do not dispose of the battery in a fire. The cell may explode. Check with local codes for possible disposal instructions.
7. Do not open or mutilate the battery. Released electrolyte is corrosive and may cause damage to the eyes or skin. It may be toxic if swallowed.

Vibration Hazard
This appliance vibrates during use. Repeated or long-term exposure to vibration may cause temporary or permanent physical injury, particularly to the hands, arms and shoulders. To reduce the risk of vibration-related injury:
1. Anyone using vibrating appliances regularly or for an extended period should first be examined by a doctor and then have regular medical check-ups to ensure medical problems are not being caused or worsened from use. Pregnant women or people who have impaired blood circulation to the hand, past hand injuries, nervous system disorders, diabetes, or Raynaud’s Disease should not use this appliance. If you feel any symptoms related to vibration (such as tingling, numbness, and white or blue fingers), seek medical advice as soon as possible.
3. Do not Overreach Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
4. Stay Alert - Watch what you are doing. Use common sense. Do not operate appliance when you are tired.
2. Do not smoke during use. Nicotine reduces the blood supply to the hands and fingers, increasing the risk of vibration-related injury.
3. Wear suitable gloves to reduce the vibration effects on the user.
4. Use appliances with the lowest vibration when there is a choice between different processes.
5. Include vibration-free periods each day of work.
6. Grip appliance as lightly as possible (while still keeping safe control of it). Let the appliance do the work.
7. To reduce vibration, maintain the appliance as explained in this manual. If any abnormal vibration occurs, stop use immediately.
IMPORTANT
Safe Practices for Pedestrian-controlled Mowers
This cutting machine is capable of amputating hands and feet and throwing objects. Failure to observe the following safety instructions could result in serious injury or death.
I. GENERAL OPERATION
2. Read, understand, and follow all instructions on the machine and in the manual(s) before starting.
3. Do not put hands or feet near or under the machine. Keep clear of the discharge opening at all times.
4. Only allow responsible adults who are familiar with the instructions to operate this machine.
5. Clear the area of objects such as rocks, wire, toys, etc., which could be thrown by the blade. Stay behind the handle when the lawn mower is running.
6. Be sure the area is clear of bystanders before operating. Stop machine if anyone enters the area.
7. Do not operate machine barefooted or while wearing sandals. Always wear substantial footwear.
8. Do not pull machine backward unless absolutely necessary. Always look down and behind before and while moving backward.
9. Never direct discharged material toward anyone. Avoid discharging material against a wall or obstruction. Material may ricochet back toward the operator. Stop the blade when crossing gravel surfaces.
10. Do not operate machine without the entire grass catcher, discharge guard, rear guard, or other safety protective devices in place and working.
11. Never leave a running machine unattended.
12. Stop the lawn mower and wait until the blade comes to a complete stop before cleaning the machine, removing grass catcher, or unclogging the discharge guard.
Page 4 For technical questions, please call 1-888-866-5797. Item 56992 56998
Page 5
13. Operate machine only in daylight or good artificial light.
14. Do not operate machine while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
15. Never operate lawn mower in wet grass. Always be sure of your footing; walk, never run.
16. If the machine should start to vibrate abnormally, stop the machine and check for the cause immediately. Vibration is generally a warning of trouble.
17. Always wear eye protection when operating machine.
18. See manufacturer’s instructions for proper operation and installation of accessories. Only use accessories approved by the manufacturer.
19. The warnings and precautions discussed in this manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood by the operator that common sense and caution are factors which cannot be built into this product, but must be supplied by the operator.
20. Maintain labels and nameplates on the appliance. These carry important safety information. If unreadable or missing, contact Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement.
II. SLOPE OPERATION
Slopes are a major factor related to slip and fall accidents, which can result in severe injury. Operation on all slopes requires extra caution. If you feel uneasy on a slope, do not mow it.
SAFETYOPERATIONMAINTENANCE SETUP
1. Mow across the face of slopes; never up and down. Exercise extreme caution when changing direction on slopes.
2. Watch for holes, ruts, bumps, rocks, or other hidden objects. Uneven terrain could cause a slip and fall accident. Tall grass can hide obstacles.
3. Do not mow on wet grass or excessively steep slopes. Poor footing could cause a slip and fall accident.
4. Do not mow near drop offs, ditches, or embankments. You could lose your footing or balance.
III. CHILDREN
Tragic accidents can occur if the operator is not alert to the presence of children. Children are often attracted to the machine and the mowing activity. Never assume that children will remain where you last saw them.
1. Keep children out of the mowing area and under the watchful care of a responsible adult other than the operator.
2. Be alert and turn mower off if a child enters the area.
3. Never allow children to operate the machine.
4. Use extra care when approaching blind corners, shrubs, trees, or other objects that may block your view of a child.
IV. SERVICE
1. Keep all nuts and bolts tight to be sure the equipment is in safe working condition.
4. If you strike a foreign object, stop and inspect the machine. Repair, if necessary, before starting.
2. Never remove or tamper with safety devices. Check their proper operation regularly. Never do anything to interfere with the intended function of a safety device or to reduce the protection provided by a safety device.
3. Keep machine free of grass, leaves, or other debris build up. Allow machine to cool before storing.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
5. Check grass catcher components and the discharge guard frequently and replace with manufacturer’s recommended parts, when necessary.
6. Mower blades are sharp. Wrap the blade or wear gloves, and use extra caution when servicing them.
