WHY HHD

Astra has always been a synonym of strength, power
and reliability. But when the going really gets tough,
you need to have a suitable vehicle on hand capable
of performing to the utmost in any situation and fit for
any application.

The HHD (Heavy Heavy Duty) model, specially
designed with over-sized technical solutions,
represents Astra’s response to cope with situations
in which normal load and terrain conditions cease to
exist and give way to desert dunes, the cold of Siberian
winters, and extreme loading conditions.
The flexibility of its features and the endless
possibilities to customise it allow the realisation of a
perfect setup for any onsite demand anywhere in the
world, from logging to the construction sector, from
the transportation of heavy loads to the Oil & Gas
sector.

Le modèle HHD (Heavy Heavy Duty), spécialement
conçu selon des solutions techniques surdimensionnées,
est la réponse d’Astra pour affronter des situations
dans lesquelles les conditions normales de travail et du
terrain n’existent plus et laissent la place aux dunes du
désert, aux froids intenses des hivers sibériens et à des
conditions de travail extrêmement pénibles.
La polyvalence des équipements et les possibilités
illimitées de personnalisation permettent de configurer
parfaitement l’engin afin de satisfaire à n’importe quelle
exigence de chantier dans le monde entier, allant du
transport du bois (logging) au secteur des constructions,
du transport lourd au secteur Oil & Gas.

TECHNOLOGY

up to 250 tons with a vehicle equipped with WSK converter.

- Suspension: front and rear, reinforced parabolic.

- Steering System oversized derived from 4 axles vehicles with
emergency steering cylinder.

- 14.00 R20 Tyres twinned at the rear, specially for earth moving,
which allow it to maintain a maximum speed of 70km/h. Other tyres
available (24.00 R20.5) for trails/sand at reduced speed.

The new Astra HHD model makes the very best of the
design and main components of the Astra HD8 series
and represents the top for the oil sector and for heavy
transportation in general, since all the research and
solutions aim at ensuring reliability and the ability to cope
with the most arduous of tasks.

Key design features:

- 6x6 traction with 16 drive configurations available in chassis or tractor
version which ensure the right response to power demands and agility.

Big Power and Torque:

Electronically controlled engine in Euro3 (Extraeurope) version, with
powers from 480 to 540hp with radiators which allow ATB values up
to 50°, suitable for tropical climates. In addition, there is the possibility,
according to the gearbox used, to add supplementary radiators for
particularly arduous applications.

Vast assortment of gearboxes:

Possibility of kitting out the vehicle with various types of severe-duty
gearboxes, according to the mission and performance requested:

- manual

- semi-automatic: Astronic ZF16AS2601OD type

- automatic: Allison HD4700 type with 2 versions of PTO Chelsea
according to the application.

- hydro-mechanical with WSK converter for particularly arduous tasks.
Chassis: the strong point of Astra vehicles, with flat parallel

sidemembers in high resistance steel, to ensure the vehicle’s stability
and make it easy to rig out with any type of equipment.

The particular characteristics of these vehicles are therefore the elevated
power and the strength of the following specific components:

- Heavy-duty axles, certificated to guarantee loads for a G.V.W. up to
50,000kg (10,000kg on the front and 40,000kg on the rear tandem) at a
speed of 70km/h in the chassis version and a G.V.W.

There is also a wide range of options to customise the vehicle
according to special need:

- long cabin version with 2 bunks

- right hand drive version for those markets that require it

- tyre inflation system, suitable for desert applications.

- Fifth wheel JSK 50 with pivot support for heavier loads

- double 600 litre tanks

- front towing hook

Le nouveau modèle Astra HHD exploite au maximum le design, les
principaux composants de la série Astra HD8 et représente l’engin
idéal pour les opérateurs du secteur pétrolier et du transport lourd
en général, car la recherche et les solutions adoptées garantissent
abilité et capacité d’aronter des travaux extrêmement ardus.

Caractéristiques de design principales:

- traction 6x6 avec 16 congurations de pas disponibles dans la version
camion ou tracteur répondant parfaitement aux exigences de puissance
et d’agilité de l’engin.

Puissance et couple élevées:

Moteur à gestion électronique en version Euro 3 (Extraeurope) avec des
puissances élevées allant de 480 à 540 CV et des radiateurs consentant
des valeurs ATB qui atteignent 50°, idéals pour les climats tropicaux.
En outre, en fonction du changement de vitesse utilisé on peut ajouter
des radiateurs supplémentaires pour des applications particulièrement
contraignantes.

Possibilité de congurer l’engin selon diérents types de changement
de vitesse selon la tâche et les performances requises:

Châssis: point fort des véhicules Astra, avec des longerons plats et
parallèles en acier haute résistance qui assurent une grande stabilité
à l’engin et permettent d’installer facilement n’importe quel type
d’équipement.

Les caractéristiques particulières de ces engins sont donc la puissance
élevée et la robustesse des composants spéciques suivants:

- Essieux haute résistance
véhicule jusqu’à 50.000 Kg (10.000 Kg sur la partie antérieure et 40.000
Kg sur le tandem postérieur) à une vitesse de 70 Km/h dans la version
camion et une masse combinée pouvant atteindre 250 tonnes avec un
engin équipé de convertisseur de couple WSK.

- Suspensions avant et arrière paraboliques renforcées.

- Système de direction surdimensionné dérivée des véhicules 4
essieux avec cylindre de direction d’émergence.

- Pneumatiques 14.00 R20
le terrassement, permettant de maintenir une vitesse maximum de
70 Km/h. Ultérieur train de pneus
disponible pour vitesses réduites.

En outre, une ample gamme d’options est disponible pour congurer
l’engin selon les nécessités:

- version cabine longue avec 2 couchettes

- version conduite à droite pour les marchés qui la requièrent

- Système de gonage des pneus, indiqué pour des applications désert

- Couronne JSK 50 avec support à pivot pour charges élevées
