Installation and maintenance instructions

Read these instructions carefully before use and keep in a safe place. The instructions contain important information about the product, particularly with regard to the intended use, safety, installation, maintenance and disposal.
Pass on these instructions to the user after installation or if the device is re-sold.
eCLIQ electronic cylinders
General
The eCLIQ electronic cylinders are locked/unlocked using an eCLIQ key that is electronically programmed to operate the cylinder. A CR2032 battery in the key powers up the electronics in the cylinder upon key insertion. No cables are needed.
About this manual
The manual was designed to enable you to install and operate the product safely and make full use of the permitted range of applications the product has to offer.
It also provides information regarding how key components work.

Use of other tools to operate a cylinder: Use only authorised eCLIQ keys
to operate the cylinder. Any other means of trying to open the cylinder can damage or destroy the cylinder. The eCLIQ electronic cylinder should easily be operated using authorised keys.

Intended use
The eCLIQ electronic cylinder is suitable for commercially available locks. It has been developed, designed and manufactured for heavy use indoors and outdoors.
The manufacturer assumes no liability for damages due to the following:
∙ Installation errors ∙ Damage to the product due to excessive mechanical stress ∙ Modification of the product without the written approval
of the manufacturer
∙ Use for purposes other than those described in this manual.

Caution!
Check for damage: Damage to the metal parts can cause injury. A
damaged cylinder is a safety risk. Check the packaging and the cylinder for damage. A damaged cylinder must not be installed. A damaged key must not be used.
Observe the specifications and regulations of inspection authorities: The regulations of inspection authorities must be observed for the installation of the eCLIQ electronic cylinder. Specifications of the door manufacturer must also be observed.
Comply with the fire certification: The conformity of the fire certifications for all door components and the suitability of the eCLIQ electronic cylinder must be checked for installation in a fire or smoke door.
Risk of injury due to sharp edges and chips: There is risk of injury due to sharp edges and chips from drilling or other cutting work. Take particular care to protect your eyes with suitable protective goggles. The work may only be performed by an appropriately qualified person.

Important!
Door Work: The eCLIQ cylinder and the mortice lock must be removed
before doing work such as drilling or cutting on the door.
Protect against the penetration of dirt and chips: The eCLIQ cylinder can be damaged from the penetration of chips or dirt.
Application of force can destroy the cylinder: The application of force, e.g. striking with a hammer, can damage or destroy the cylinder.
Tension-free installation: The eCLIQ cylinder must be installed tension-free.
Size of eCLIQ Euro cylinders: Make sure that Euro cylinders do not protrude more than 3 mm from the door.

The administration of a locking system must be subject to particular care. Particular attention must be paid to the correct assignment of persons to the keys distributed. Lost keys must also be electronically blocked immediately.

Maintenance, warranty, disposal
Maintenance

Important!
Do not apply lubricants in the eCLIQ cylinder: The eCLIQ cylinder should
not be greased or filled with other substances.

Important!
Replace the battery within 30s: Stored data is kept for 30s. A new
battery must be inserted within this time span.
We recommend replacing the battery after 30,000 openings or within 3 years. The battery warning must be observed.
1 Rotate the battery cover on the key grip 40° anti-clockwise. 2 Note the alignment of the battery cover based on the mark. 3 Remove the cover. 4 Pay attention to the correct polarity of the battery and insert a new
type CR2032 battery.
5 Fit the battery cover in place again with the alignment in which
it was removed.
6 Rotate the battery cover on the key grip 40° clockwise.

Warranty
The statutory warranty period applies. The warranty becomes void if the product has been opened. Exceptions:
Keys may only be opened for the insertion and changing of batteries. The cylinder length may only be adjusted for a modular system according to the respective instructions.
The warranty does not apply if accessory parts other than those specified in this manual are used. Damage resulting from normal wear, overloading or incorrect handling is not covered under the warranty.

Disposal
The product must be disposed properly after use and, if possible, dropped off for recycling (e.g. recycling bin or recycling collection centre). All packaging materials must be disposed via the recycling system for packaging. Batteries must be dropped off at battery collection points.

Used batteries may contain hazardous substances which can harm the environment or your health if stored or disposed incorrectly. Batteries also contain important raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese or nickel and can be recycled.
