To attract and retain satisfied customers,
mobile network operators must overcome
the primary source of dissatisfaction:
poor performance quality.
The TEMS™ Symphony Suite of
benchmarking solutions measures
customers’ experiences with voice and
services for operators and their competitors.
The resulting information identifies the
improvements and investments needed to
assure customer satisfaction.
QVoice Symphony
TEMS™ SYMPHONY SUITE 5.8
The TEMS Symphony Suite is a set of geographically targeted Quality of
Service (QoS) benchmarking solutions for wireless network operators.
Providing voice, data, and video service measurements, these tools support
a wide range of test mobile phones and data cards. TEMS Symphony Suite’s
modular configuration allows easy installation and operation. The product
line is paired with our QVoice Presentation software for optimal post-
processing.
A three-tiered offering provides the right test tool for the task at hand,
with the flexibility to easily reconfigure when unexpected requirements
arise. The TEMS Symphony Suite measures 2G, 3G, and 4G cellular networks.

Symphony Multi
QVoice Companion
All three solutions use the QVoice software application, so the types
of tests, the ways of testing, and operations for the systems are exactly the
same.
QVoice Symphony and Symphony Multi are powerful and highly
scalable benchmarking systems that can handle up to 24 networks in all
major radio technologies. They handle a wide array of measurements from
both subscriber and engineering perspectives. Symphony Multi is specially
engineered for the US market.
QVoice Companion offers the same software and services as QVoice
Symphony, but on a smaller scale.

THE FINE ART OF BENCHMARKING
The TEMS Symphony Suite assesses network performance with respect to
transferring data and messages. There are test protocols for QVoice systems
including HTTP, FTP, UDP, WAP, SMS/MMS, Ping, and email.
IP data KPIs include:
Service accessibility
Setup time
Session time
Mean data rate
Data transfer cutoff ratio
Data collection features
Best algorithms for speech, video, and audio testing – industrial and ITU
standards
Video telephony clips feeding directly into the mobile device
Video telephony clips on the mobile device screen captured electronically
Referenced and non-referenced video algorithms
Speech MOS values displayed in real-time during tests
Compact measurement data files
Online display of AMR codec status
Video-quality MOS algorithm on mobile video applications
Real speech quality
In-band audio problem detection with silence, level jump, echo gaps
Mobile data tests: HTTP, FTP, UDP, WAP, SMS/MMS, Ping, and email
Mobile application protocol stack (MMS, WAP)
Measurement trigger points precisely defined per ETSI
TEMS™ SYMPHONY SUITE 5.8
Protocol messages recorded with air interface Layer 3 data
Combined test mobile phone and scanner measurements
Subscriber view of QoS in uplink and downlink
Simulation of subscriber behavior
Live recording and call statistics
Detailed decoding of engineering data: Layer 3, RLC/MAC messages
Measurements over different air interfaces: GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA,
CDMA-1X, WiMAX
