The Ascom gateway
tool to the Internet,
MailGate, transfers
e-mail information to
people on the move.
By using a special
address, an Internet
message can be for­warded directly to a
person waiting for an
important e-mail. A
notification is then
instantly sent out to
the person´s telephone
or pager and the
person can act imme­diately.

Ascom uses the Internet

For people on the move in their work­place, Ascom extends the accessibility
to include Internet mail technology.
Today, messages arrive in written
form via e-mail and often replace
phone calls, faxes, etc. People who
are seldom at their desk – if they have
one – become even harder to reach
since they are not aware of an inco­ming e-mail. The risk of missing
important information sent electroni­cally is becoming higher for every day
since many machines, for example in
a production line, automatically send
electronic fault messages. This infor­mation is vital and must be handled
immediately which has resulted in a
need for e-mail notification.

Ascom provides the solution with our
IP-messaging tool MailGate which
interfaces to your mail system. This
gives you e-mail notification directly
in your telephone or pager as soon as
an awaited e-mail arrives.

MailGate is interfaced to all mail ser­vers or clients supporting SMTP. Func­tionality, such as filtering and forwar­ding conditions, varies depending on
the available features in the existing
mail server.

Unique e-mail address

Each telephone or pager in the Ascom
system gets a unique e-mail address
and parts of an incoming e-mail are
automatically forwarded and dis­played on the unit. The user knows
directly if the received e-mail needs
immediate attention or can wait until
later to be read. If the message is
short, it can be read in full on Ascom
telephones and pagers.
MailGate expands the use of your exi­sting telephone or paging system. It
gives you a higher performance rate
