The ARRI automated stirrup, MaxMover, offers remote pan, tilt
and focus for large daylight and tungsten fixtures. It eliminates
safety and cost concerns of placing an operator in a Condor bucket
as large fixtures can now be mounted on boom arms, tall plat­forms or in hard-to-reach locations and operated conveniently
from the ground using simple analog control or via wired or wire­less DMX.

A unique snap-in mounting system allows fixtures up to 176 lb.
(80kg) to be converted quickly and easily from stand to remote
operation. Equipped with a variable width adjustment, the Max­Mover will accommodate a wide range of fixtures such as 6k or
12kW HMI PARs, 12/18kW HMI Fresnels, T12 and T24 Fresnels.

How does the Basic Operation with DMX work?

This option uses the “Basic” DMX Converter (control box) 563710.
It translates the function of the analog hardwired hand-controller
into DMX. Simple DMX controllers, as used in typical location
“applications” may be used with this option of the MaxMover.

The working principle is described as follows (3 DMX channels will
be used by the Basic DMX converter):

The position of the slider (PAN / TILT / FOCUS) equals the direction
and speed. “Center” or 50% position of the slider means no move­ment. Due to saftey reasons the operation must be released initially
after switching on or loosing the DMX signal! The “Basic” DMX
converter may also be used with wireless DMX systems.

Note: For operating 563710 additonal equipment such as DMX
controller and DMX cable is required!

System Overview - Setup 3 (Fully Programmable Operation withDMX,

How does the fully programmable (FP) operation with DMX work?

This option provides full DMX functionality as found on most
moving lights. Therefore, in order to work in an enviroment with
other moving light applications where larger professional control
consoles are used, the fully programmable option is needed.

The option is either available as an upgrade 563704 for the
standard, analog MaxMover or under 563701 the MaxMover will
already come with the installed fully programmable DMX option.

The working principle is described as follows (Note: The FP DMX
controller may be switched to Basic DMX operation as well):

The position of the slider (PAN / TILT / FOCUS) equals an actual
position of the MaxMover. The speed of movement is usually
achieved by a “cue” executed by the control console. Therefore
the ‘FP Operation with DMX‘ offers a control channel for speed as
typical of many other DMX controllable units.

DMX channel setup: CH1-coarse Pan; CH2-fine Pan; CH3-speed
Pan; CH4-coarse Tilt; CH5-fine Tilt; CH6-speed Tilt;
CH7-Focus; CH8-movement release (50% +/-10%) and home
position (90-100%)
