Q2: How do I connect the Sno-Thro attachment on the tractor?

A2: To connect the sno throw when using a tractor, take the cuts on the sno throw’s lower part and slide it around the shaft that is connected to the tractor’s frame, interlock the components together, and place and tighten the bolts.

Q3: In which area is the serial number located?

A3: The number can be found around the engine as it has either the number engraved into the frame or it is found hanged around on the engine.

Q4: If the rotor gets stuck or becomes jammed how do I remove it?

A4: In the case that the rotor does get stuck the shear bolts will tend to break and become unusable. First service this problem by replacing or acquiring these bolts then continue use.

Q5: How do I properly take care of the engine?

A5: For care or maintenance, make sure to follow the instructions given on the manual and the nameplate on the engine. In the case of a repair you should go find an Ariens dealer or an authorized service center.

Q6: Is it possible for me to use the Sno-Thro in damp snow?

A6: This is allowed, however, a coat of wax could be provided to the inner surface of the chute preventing undue jamming.

Q7: On an average how many times will I have to replace the scraper blade?

A7: With considerable wear the scraper blade will have to be replaced and this is done by taking out the carriage bolts which secure it to the housing.

Q8: Am I required to make adjustments to the runners?

A8: Yes, the runners are to be calibrated according to the surface. For instance, for a concrete surface they should be calibrated roughly 1/8 inch below the scraper blade and for a gravelled surface 1-1/4 inches below.

Q9: What is the procedure to Take off the blower housing?

A9: In order to take off the blower housing, one must first dismount it from the tractor unit and then knock out the roll pins to release the clutch fork .Finally, unscrew the required cap screws and remove the bearing supports.

Q10: What stands the mechanic torn with a shear bolt? What should comission if a shear bolt is broken?

A10: Other types can more or less damage the machine whereas Ariens shear bolt should be used to replace the shear bolt which is broken.
