Q.E.V Diaphragm Kit

Description:

The Quick Exhaust Valve (Q.E.V.) located below the drying chamber, opens and closes when the compressor cycles ON and OFF. While
the compressor is running, air is directed through the drying chamber into the purge and storage tank. When the compressor is not
running the purged air returns through the drying chamber and exits via the exhaust muffler or the condensate drain.

Pressure against the diaphragm on compressor pump-up closes OFF the exhaust or vent, allowing the system to pressurize. On
compressor shutdown, pressure is relieved on the diaphragm, via the unloader, and the diaphragm opens allowing the valve to
exhaust.

In the event that Quick Exhaust Valve (Q.E.V.) sticks or leaks, this replacement diaphragm kit will solve most problems in the few
minutes it takes to install.

The Q.E.V. Diaphragm kit includes the diaphragm, diaphragm grease tube, o-ring and gasket.

Installation:

* Important: Inspect both internal surfaces. They must be clean and smooth with no pits, scratches or

corrosion. If pitted or scratched, please replace valve or upgrade to solenoid upgrade kit (electronic type).

To install replacement diaphragm, first be sure that the power to the compressor is OFF and that the storage tank is drained of all air
pressure. Disconnect the Q.E.V. from the system and install the new diaphragm as depicted in the parts drawing below. Lightly apply
tube grease to diaphragm and exhaust valve surface seat. Be sure not to pinch the diaphragm when assembling the valve.

* If valve free flows after installation, this would indicate either a pinched diaphragm or too much lubricant

was used. Disassemble and move diaphragm to center of cast or clean excess grease. If no air flow, inspect
muffler for obstructions and or replace.
