Residential Electric Direct

®Solar Booster Water Heaters

A. O. Smith 80 and 120-gallon direct solar booster water heaters are designed for installation as a part of a direct (open loop) solar water heating system or for use with external heat exchangers in closed loop systems. They provide storage for the hot water produced by the solar collectors and a supplementary electric heating element that maintains consistent water temperature during periods when solar energy is not available. 4500 watt heating element – long lasting low-watt density design spreads wattage over larger surface area to prolong element life and maximize efficiency

Prewired for surface mount temperature sensor (sensor supplied separately)

TANK CONSTRUCTION

PermaGlas® glasslined Steel Tank – patented glass lining protects against corrosion to maximize tank life

2 Inch thick “Environmentally-Friendly” Non-CFC Foam insulation (R16 Value) reduces standby heat loss

COREGARD™ ANODE ROD

Aluminum anode rod with stainless steel core protects tank against corrosion

DYNACLEAN™ DIFFUSER DIP TUBE

Helps reduce lime and sediment buildup to maximize hot water output

Made from long-lasting PEX cross-linked polymer

CSA CERTIFIED AND ASME RATED T&P RELIEF VALVE, FACTORY-INSTALLED

DURABLE, TAMPER-RESISTANT BRASS DRAIN VALVE

CODES AND STANDARDS

Meets Federal Energy Efficiency Standards effective January 20, 2004, according to the National Energy Conservation Act (NAECA) of 1992 and meets the standby loss requirements of the U.S. Department of Energy and current edition of ASHRAE/IESNA 90.1, current editions of ICC Codes and HUD Standards. Complies with California legislation AB 1953 and Vermont legislation Act 193 that limits the lead content in plumbing fixtures that come into contact with drinking water to a maximum of 0.25%.
