TO SPECIFY HWI SERIES PACKAGE WATER HEATER:
1. Determine what t ype of heating medium will be used; steam or b oiler water.
• If STEAM - Determine pressure in coil.
• If BOILER WATER - Determine available boiler water temperature.
2. From the recovery table, obtain the required GPH capa cit y and temperature rise. Selecting heating coil size.
3. Decide whether single or double wall coil is required.

SPECIFIC ATIONS - STEAM TO WATER
The instantaneous hot water generator package shall be A .O. Smith model HWI , (EDS) or (ESS) with _ ______1 heating coil. The jacketed and insulated heater shall have a 316L stainless steel vessel constructed in accordance with ASME section VIII for a working pressure of 150psi. The heater shall be de signed to recover _ _ _ _ _gpm for a temperature rise of _ _ _ _ degrees F to _ _ _ _ _ degrees F when supplied with ____ psig s team to the control valve. T he heating coil shall be constructed in accordan ce with ASME section VIII code. Single wall heat exchanger s shall have 3 /4” O.D., 20GA deoxidize d drawn copper tube s. Double wall heat exchangers shall have 5 /8” I.D. deoxidized drawn copper tube within a tube. The external tube shall have radial fins for enhanced h eat transfer. Each coil shall have s tainless steel baffles and shell side tube she et.
The heater shall be fac tory assembled and piped including y -s trainer, electric actuate d control valve, main and auxiliar y s team traps, condensate strainer, bronze integral circulator piped and wired to circulate water across the coil, vacuum breaker, air vent, ASME temperature and pre ssure relief valve and incoming steam pressure gauge.
SPECIFIC ATIONS - WATER TO WATER

TEMPERATURE CONTROL
The heater shall be supplied with a (PID) solid st ate temperature controller with dual LED display. The controller shall have remote temperature selection, a green temperature set ting display screen and high limit display screen, The controller shall be supplied with output contact to interface with building automation s ys tem for power on and high temp erature limit statu s. The controller shall allow the building automation sy stem to turn the unit on or off through a 24VAC relay. The controller shall have u ser-selectable communications interface of 2-wire RS485 (MODBUS or ASCII) or of f-line PC configuration.
