This chapter describes jumpers, connectors and hardware devices of this motherboard.
Note: Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can damage your processor, disk drives, expansion boards, and
other components. Always observe the following precautions before you install a system component.
1. Do not remove a component from its protective packaging until you are ready to install it.
2. Wear a wrist ground strap and attach it to a metal part of the system unit before handling a
component. If a wrist strap is not available, maintain contact with the system unit throughout any
procedure requiring ESD protection.

When you read this online manual and start to assemble your computer system, you may find some functions are “Optional”,
and some “Upgrade Optional”. Although all AOpen motherboards include many amazing and powerful features, in some
situations, those powerful features are not commonly used by every user. Therefore, we changed some key features to
“Optional” for you to choose. With optional functions that can be upgraded by users, we define them “Upgrade Optional”. As for
those optional functions that can’t be upgraded by ourselves, we call them “Optional”. If needed, you can contact our local
distributors or resellers for purchasing “Upgrade Optional” components, and again you are welcomed to visit AOpen official web
site: www.aopen.com
for more detail information.

This motherboard supports Intel® Pentium 4 Socket 478 series CPU (Brookdale). Be careful of CPU orientation when you plug it
into CPU socket.
1. Pull up the CPU socket lever and
up to 90-degree angle.
2. Locate Pin 1 in the socket and look for a cut edge on the CPU upper interface. Match Pin 1 and cut edge, then insert the CPU into the socket.
Note: Those pictures are for example only; it may not exactly look the same with your motherboard.
