UTX-200 DIAGNOSTIC FLOWCHART SHEET

CAUTION
To avoid possible personal injury and/or damage to the unit, all inspections, tests, and repair of electrical equipment
should be performed by QUALIFIED SERVICE PERSONNEL. The unit MUST be completely shut down and unplugged
before servicing, except when electrical tests are required. Use extreme care during electrical circuit tests. Live
circuits will be exposed.

TOOLS: Clamp-on Ammeter.

AFFECTED PRODUCTS: All UTX-200 units.

Introduction

The purpose of this document is to provide diagnostic infor­mation for the UTX-200 Universal Toaster. The diagnostic
areas covered in this document include:

Upper IR Heaters (Infrared) Circuit•

Lower IR Heaters (Infrared) Circuit•

Platen Heater Circuit•

Conveyor System•

This document also includes the wiring diagrams and sche­matics to assist in diagnosing problems with the UTX-200.

This document includes the UTX-200 Diagnostic Service
Mode document (p/n 1011010). This document describes
the Diagnostic Service Mode for the UTX-200 and will help
with troubleshooting the system.

· Turn off power switch, then back on. Listen for 3 “Clicks.”

· Press and hold the ADJUST and UT buttons for 5 seconds

· Press the NEXT twice, then the SELECT

· This will place the toaster in Diagnostics mode

The High Limit senses the internal Platen
temp. If tripped, It prevents the contactor C1
from closing. This prevents Amperage flow to
ALL heaters. A tripped Hi-Limit is an
indication of a PLATEN problem such as a
shorted/grounded thermocouple or shorted
Platen SSR. It is set to trip at 700F

an Intermittent connection on the current
Sense board or connecting cable
Inspect cable and board

The Amperages are correct but are not being
measured correctly by the toaster, possibilities:

· faulty connection on the current Sense board
or connecting cable

· Inspect cable and board

· Wires passing through the current Sense Board are
incorrectly routed. Refer to current sense
board for correct wiring

The measured amps are not correct so the
problem exist in the heaters, wiring, SSRs or
cables.

· Open heater (H1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7)
