Survey Instructions and Form

Find and Measure

1. Find the serial plate of the case and record the following information on the Commercial Refrigeration Swing Door Retro-fit Survey Information Form on page 7:
a. Case Manufacturer
b. Case Model
c. End Panels
d. End Panel type

e. Contour
2. Measure the overall length of the lineup and record the following information on the Commercial Refrigeration Swing Door Retro-fit Survey form on page 7:
a. If the cases are in one single lineup,
measure the inside dimension of the overall length from end to end.
b. If there are several cases, but not in
a lineup together, measure the inside dimension of the overall length from end to end of each case or section individually.
3. Measure the height of the opening and record the following information on the Commercial Refrigeration Swing Door Retro-fit Survey Information Form on page 7:
a. Measure the opening height (B) refer to Figure 1, every 4-6 feet of the
lineup. Cases can very for many reasons, so we are looking for the widest, narrowest, and average opening height so that we can deter mine the best net opening and door size to use.
b. Do this for each case or lineup the retrofit is being considered.

4. Measure the Canopy offset as compared to the handrail and record the following information on the
Survey Information Form on page 4:
Hang a plum line or straight edge from the canopy so that the dis­tance can be measured from the canopy to the handrail (D) refer to
Figure 1.
5. Measure the distance from the floor to the top of the handrail (A) refer to
Figure 1, and record the following information on the Refer to “Commeri­cal Refrigeration Retro-fit Survey Information Form on page 4.
6. Measure the height/thickness of the canopy (C) refer to Figure 1, and record the following information on the Refer to “Commerical Refrigera-
tion Retro-fit Survey Information Form on page 4.

7. Evaluate the end panels:
a. Note if the end panels are straight or contoured.
If contoured, a trace must be made. Do this by sliding a full length sheet of butcher paper or equivalent between the panel and the case and trace the contour with a pen or pencil onto the paper. This should be returned to Anthony International with this completed survey.
b. Another option is to have an end panel made. If the end panel is
easily removable, this is a better option then trying to fill in or match a contour.
8. Photograph the lineup(s):
a. Take detailed pictures of all items measured on the case. Take both
close ups and full view pictures.
b. Take pictures of ALL end panels.
c. Take pictures of any lighting and incoming electrical connections.
Note where the power come in.
d. Photograph the lineup as if you are standing on the end, looking down
the lineup.
e. Photograph underneath the canopy, if possible.
