10. Th is monitor uses publi c airwaves to transmit si gnals. The Parent U nit may pick up sig nals or inte rferen ce from othe r monitors i n your area . Your monitor may e ven be picked u p by other hou sehold s. To protect your priva cy, make sure both units ar e turned OFF when not in use . If you experien ce interf erence, c hange the c hannel o n both units .

Remove battery f rom Parent Unit when p roduct is s tored for lo ng period s of time or when bat teries are ex hausted . Dispos e exhauste d batterie s properly.

15. IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
15.1 H eed all warnings – Al l warnings on the prod uct and in the operat ing
instruc tions sho uld be adh ered to.
15.2 Follow all instru ctions – Al l operati ng and use in structi ons shoul d be followed.
15.3 Water and moisture - D O NOT use this a pparatus n ear water. For example, n ear a bath tu b, wash bowl , kitchen sin k, laun dry tub, in a w et environm ent or near a s wimming p ool and the l ike. Care s hould be t aken so that obje cts DO NOT fall ont o units and that liqu ids are not spilled in to either un it or Senso r Pad throug h its open ings.
15.4 Cleaning - Disco nnect al l units befo re cleani ng. DO NOT im merse in water any par t of the moni tor. Clean onl y with dry cl oth.
15.5 Ventilation - DO NOT blo ck any ventilatio n openings. A llow for proper ventilatio n when units are in us e. DO NOT cover the Came ra or the Parent Unit with any o bject su ch as a blanke t. DO NOT pla ce it in a drawer or in any loc ation whic h would muf fle the sou nd or inter fere with th e normal fl ow of air.
15.6 Heat sources - DO NOT in stall near any h eat sources such a s radiators, heat regis ters, stove s, TVs or oth er appara tus (inclu ding amp lifiers) tha t produce h eat. Heat c an damag e the case or e lectri cal part s.
15.7 Power cord protectio n - Protect the S ensor Pa d cord and Adapter’s p ower cord fro m being wal ked on or pinc hed by furn iture or other ite ms – Power supp ly cords sh ould be route d so that they are not likel y to be walked on o r pinche d by items upon o r against them, payi ng parti cular atte ntion to cord s and plugs , convenie nce receptac le, and the p oint wher e they exit from t he produc t. The socket o utlet shall be inst alled near the eq uipment and shal l be easily accessib le. Make su re to plug the a dapter to the s ocket outle t nearest to the equip ment and that is easil y accessible. To disconn ect from mains, unplug the adapter.
15.8 Accessories - Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufac turer. DO NOT pl ace this pro duct on an u nstable c art, st and, tripod, b racket or ta ble. The p roduct may f all, cau sing seri ous injur y to a child or ad ult and ser ious dam age to the prod uct. Use O NLY with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table recommended by the manufacturer or sold with th e produc t. Any moun ting of the pro duct sho uld follow t he manufacturer’s instructions.
15.9 Unplug this app liance dur ing lightn ing storms o r when not u sed for long peri ods of time .
15.10 Servicing - DO N OT attempt to se rvice this p roduct yo urself as opening o r removing c overs (except batte ry door) may ex pose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards.

15.12 Usage - This baby mo nitor is intende d as an aid. It is NOT a su bstitute for respon sible and pro per adult supe rvision an d should not be us ed as such. Use this ap pliance O NLY for its intend ed use as described i n this manu al.
15.13 Power Sources - Ope rate this prod uct only f rom the typ e of power source ind icated on th e type pla te of the adapto r. If you are uns ure of the type of p ower suppl y to your home , consult you r dealer o r local power company.
15.14 Overloading - DO N OT overload wal l outlets , extensio n cords or integral co nvenienc e receptac les as this c an result in a r isk of fire or electric shock.

15.16 Antenna - The anten na used for t his transm itter mus t be insta lled to provide a se paration d istance of a t least 20 cm f rom all per sons and must not be c ollocated or op erating in conjun ction with any othe r antenna or tr ans mit ter.
15.17 P ower Lines - A n outside a ntenna sys tem shoul d NOT be loca ted in the vicin ity of overhe ad power lin es or other e lectric l ight or powe r circuit, o r where it ca n fall into suc h power line s or circuit s as contac t with them may b e fatal.
15.18 Vibration Sourc e - When the mo nitor is in use , DO NOT use a bedside c ot, cot mobi le or other cot a ccessor ies that may pr oduce vibratio ns. Other s ources of vi brations m ay include f ans, was hing machine s, loud m usic, etc . These sou rces of vibra tion may inte rfere with the per forman ce of your Ang elcare® monitor an d the alarm w ill not sound if it co ntinues to de tect any move ment other t han your ba by’s. Be sure all vi bration so urces are e liminate d before usi ng the monito r. You may experie nce false al arms for seve ral reaso ns. The mo st common re ason is the C amera ha s not been tu rned OFF af te r you have removed y our baby fro m the cot. Ano ther reaso n is the Sensor Pa d has not be en placed u nder the ma ttress pro perly. Be sure the S ensor Pad is on a fl at, firm surfa ce with the printed s ide facing up. The sen sitivity l evel may also ne ed to be adju sted. Ref er to Step 5.1. Always be sure to i mmediately chec k on baby whenever an al arm sounds.
15.19 Sensor Pad - Your Sens or Pad can be use d in any cot that is stati onary. If the cot has a s pring or slat ba se, place a hard b oard between th e cot base and the Sen sor Pad me asuring at l east 33 x 33 c m and 6 mm thic k. Only use your Angelcare® monitor in a s tationar y sleep ing environ ment suc h as a cot where th e Sensor Pad can res t on a complet ely flat, f irm surfa ce. The Senso r Pad is made of plast ic and does not perm it the air to circulate . Therefor e, milde w build up c ould deve lop und erneat h the matt ress in th e Sensor Pad area. We su ggest rotatin g the mattress re gularly to prevent a ny mildew.
16. IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS RELATED TO USE O F BATTERIES
16.1 U se ONLY the type an d size of batteries s pecified in t he owner’s man ual.
There is a ris k of explosion if bat teries are replac ed with an incorrec t type.
16.2 Charge the bat tery for 9 ho urs prior to f irst use . Be sure to have th e monitor in th e OFF position d uring this p eriod. O NLY use the adap ters included with your monitor.
16.3 DO NOT use these ada pters with a ny other equ ipments .
16.4 When un plugging the a dapter from the C amera, be sure i t is switched
to the OFF positio n. If it isn’ t, the unit w ill revert to ba ttery mo de if batteries are installed.
16.5 DO NOT dispose bat teries in fire. Th ey may explode. Che ck with local regulati ons for pos sible spe cial dispo sal instr uctions .
16.6 Exercise care in ha ndling ba tteries i n order not to s hort out th e batterie s with condu cting mate rials suc h as rings , bracele ts and keys. Overcharging, short circuiting, reverse charging, mutilation, or incineration of batteri es must be avoi ded to preven t one or more of t he followi ng occurren ces: release of t oxic materials , release of hydrog en and/or oxygen , gas and ris e in surfa ce tempera ture.
16.7 DO NOT attempt to recha rge batteries p rovided with or iden tified for use with this p roduct th at are not inte nded to be ch arged. T he batter ies may leak cor rosive elec trolyte or e xplode.
16.8 DO NOT attempt to reju venate the batte ries provided w ith or identifi ed for use with th is produc t by heating th em. Sud den relea se of batter y electro lyte may occu r, causing bu rns or irri tation to eyes o r skin.
16.9 If and when neces sary, the batteries m ust be replaced with id entical new ones or e quivale nt (volts and size). If a b attery to b e replace d is connec ted with other batter ies in series, re place the other bat teries at the same time a s well. DO NOT m ix old and ne w batterie s.
16.10 Reverse polarit y installation o f the batteries in t he end product m ust be avoided . Reverse ins ertion of b atterie s can caus e charging , and that may result in l eakage or e xplosion .
16.11 Remove batteries f rom both unit s if you store th e produc t over 30 days because the batteries could leak and damage the product.
16.12 Discard ‘dead’ b atterie s as soon as po ssible si nce ‘dead ’ batterie s are more like ly to leak in a p roduct. I f a batter y has leake d or vented, it should be r eplaced i mmediate ly using pr otective glove s.
16.13 DO NOT store this produ ct, or the batte ries provided wi th or identifie d for use with th is produc t, in high -tempera ture areas .

STEP 1 - CHARGING THE PARENT UNIT (9 HOURS)

PARENT UNIT:
compartment on the backside and remove the cover. Insert the provided rechargeable battery into the compartment. Contacts of the battery and the contacts in the compartment must be aligned.
2) Connect the adapter to the
Parent Unit and into an electrical outlet.
3) Charge the unit for 9 continuous hours (prior to first use).

To optimize your battery performance please refer to Battery Guidelines in the Troubleshooting section.

WARNING
STRANGULATION HAZARD.
Children have STRANGLED in cords:
• Keep adapter cords out of the reach of children (more than 1 meter away).
• Because of the serious strangulation risk to infants and toddlers, parents and caregivers should never place the Camera within 1 meter of a cot.
NEVER use Sensor Pad without the cord covers. Check cord covers before each use to ensure it is securely placed under the leg of the cot. Discontinue use of Sensor Pad if any cord covers are damaged or broken.
NEVER use extension cords with adapters. ONLY use the adapters provided. This product is not a toy. Never allow children to play with it.
STEP 2 - POSITIONING THE MOVEMENT SENSOR PAD
2.1 - SELECT A LOCATION FOR THE CAMERA
IMPORTANT
Place the cot near a supporting wall and far from air currents. Install the Camera on a flat, stable surface facing the cot at a distance of at least 1 metre. Make sure to plug the adapter to the socket outlet nearest to the equipment and that is easily accessible.

Use the cot leg by the wall closest to the Camera (Figure 1). In cases where the Camera is across the room, use the leg closest to the Camera to position the covered wire (Figure 2). It is always preferable that the covered cord run along a wall.
2.3 - INSTALL THE SENSOR PAD ON THE MATTRESS SUPPORT
IMPORTANT
If your cot does not have a solid, stable surface for the Sensor Pad, you will need to place a support under it, to ensure correct operation of the system.
This hardboard support should be at least 6 mm thick and should have minimum dimensions of 33 cm x 33 cm. This support board must be larger than the Sensor Pad surface area.
The Sensor Pad functions with any size and type of mattress except memory-foam mattresses, hollow frame mattresses and water beds. The hardboard maintains a constant pressure on the Sensor Pad, enabling it to detect the baby’s movements even when the baby is at the edges of the cot.

STRANGULATION HAZARD
• Remove all slack from Sensor Pad Cord.
• When lowering the mattress support as your child grows, slide the vertical Cord Cover downward so it remains approximately in the center between the mattress support and the floor. Slide the Sensor Pad Cord through the Floor Cover to eliminate any additional slack.

7) Snap together the
remaining cord covers that will run along the floor.
8) Remove any cord
slack to make sure no parts of the cord are loose.
9) Peel off the double-
sided tape on the 4th cord cover and place it securely under the cot leg.
• The Sensor Pad is not designed for use with adults, children or infants older than 24 months.
• Discontinue used of the Sensor Pad when child is older than 24 months. Remove Sensor Pad from cot and store for future use.
• BEFORE FIRST TIME USE: To test that the unit is ready for use, refer to instruction manual on how to test that the installation has been done correctly.
