8. Keep monitor AWAY from heat sources (such as s toves, radiato rs, etc.).

10. This monitor use s public airwaves to transmit signals. The Paren t Unit may pick up signals or interference from other nursery monitors in your area. Your monitor may even be picked up by other households . To protect your privacy, make sure both u nits are tur ned OFF whe n not in us e. I f you experience interference, change the channel on b oth units.
11. This product is NOT a toy. DO NOT allow children to play with it.

15.3 Water and moistu re - DO NOT us e this apparatus near water. For example, near a bath tub, wa sh b owl , ki tch en s ink , la un dr y tub , in a wet environment or near a s wimming pool and the like. Car e should be taken so that obje cts DO NO T fall o nto uni ts and that liquids a re not s pille d into either unit or Senso r Pad through it s op enings .
15.4 Clea ning - Disconnec t all units before clean ing. DO NOT immerse in water any part of the monitor. Clean only with dry cloth.
15.5 Ventil ation - D O NOT block any ventilation op en ings. Allow for pro pe r venti latio n wh en uni ts are in use. D O NOT cover the Nu rsery Unit o r the Parent Unit with any obje ct such as a blanket. DO NOT place it in a drawer or in any locati on which would muffle the soun d or interfere with the normal flow of air.
15.6 Heat source s - DO N OT insta ll near any heat source s suc h as radiators, heat registers, stoves, TVs or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat . Heat can damage th e cas e or electrical parts.
15.7 Power cord protection - Protec t th e S ensor Pad cord and Adapte r’s power cord from being wa lk ed on o r pi n ch ed by f ur ni tu re or o th er ite m s – Po wer su pp ly c or ds s ho ul d be rou te d so tha t th ey are not lik ely to be wal ked on or pin ch ed by ite ms up on or aga in st th em , pa yin g pa rti cu lar att ent ion to cords an d plu gs, convenie nce re ceptac le, a nd the poi nt where they exit f rom the product . The soc ket outlet shall be ins talled near the equipment and shall be easily accessible. Make sure to plug the adapter to the socket outlet neare st to th e equi pment and t hat is easily accessible. To disconnect from mains, unplug the adapter.
15.8 Acces sories - Only use attachm ents/ accessories specified by the manufacturer. DO NOT place this produ ct on an unstable c art, stand, tri pod, bracket or table . The product m ay

fall, causing se rious injury to a child or adu lt and serio us dam age to the product. Use ONLY with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table recommended by the manufacturer or sold with the product. Any mounting of the product should follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
15.9 Unplug this appliance during lightning storms or w hen n ot us ed fo r lon g periods of time.
15.10 Ser vicing - D O NOT attempt to service this produ ct yourself as open ing or removing covers (except batter y door) may expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazar ds.
15.11 Replacement parts - When replacement par ts a re re qui red , be s ure the re pla cem ent par ts specified by the manufacturer have the same chara cteris tic as the original part. Unau thorized substi tution may result in fire, electric shock or other haza rds.
15.12 Usag e - This baby monito r is intended as an a id. It is NOT a subs titute for re sponsible and prope r adul t supe rvision and should not be use d as such . Use this applian ce ONLY for its intended use as de scribe d in this manua l.
15.13 Power Sources - Ope rate this p roduct only from the ty pe of power source indica ted on the type plate of the adaptor. If you a re unsur e of the type of power supply to your home, consult your deale r or loca l powe r com pany.
15.14 Overloading - DO N OT overlo ad wal l outlet s, extens ion cords or integ ral conveni ence recept acles as this can result in a risk of fi re or electric shock.

15.16 Antenna - The anten na use d for this transm itter must be in stalle d to provid e a separ ation distan ce of at least 20 cm from all perso ns and must not be collocate d or operating in co nj unc ti on wit h a ny o th er ant en na or tra nsm it te r.
15.17 Power Lines - An outside antenna system sh oul d NOT be loca ted in th e vi cin ity of ov erh ea d po we r li nes or ot her ele c tr ic lig ht or pow er circui t, or wher e it can fa ll int o su ch po we r li nes or ci rc ui t s as contact with them may b e fat al.
15.18 Vibration Sou rce - When the mon itor is in use, DO NOT use a c rib mobile or other crib accessories that may produce vibrations. Other source s of vibratio ns may include fans , washing machi nes, l oud music, etc . These sources of vibration may inter fere with the pe rformance of your Angelcare® monitor and the alarm will not sound if it conti nues to detect any moveme nt other th an your ba by’s. Be su re all vibr ation source s are eliminated before usin g the monitor. You may expe rience false a larms for severa l reasons. The most common reason is the Nursery Unit has not be en turne d OFF aft er you have removed your b aby from the crib. Another reaso n is the Senso r P ad has not been placed under the mattress properly. Be sure the Se nsor Pad is on a flat, firm s urface with the printed side facing up. The sensitivity level may also ne ed to be adjusted . Refer to Step
5.1. Alwa ys be sur e to i mme di ate ly c hec k on baby whenever an alarm sounds.

15.19 Sensor P ad - Your Sensor Pad can be used in any crib that is stationar y. If the crib has a sprin g or sl at b ase, place a hard bo ard betwee n the crib ba se and the Se nsor Pad me asurin g at least 33 x 33 cm and 6 mm thick. Only use your Angelcare® monitor in a stationary sleeping environ ment such as a crib where the Sensor Pad can rest on a complete ly flat, firm surface. The sensor pad is mad e of plastic and does not permi t the air to circulate. The refore, mil dew build up could develop u ndern eath the mattres s in the sensor pad area. We sugg est rotati ng the mattres s regularly to prevent any mildew.
16. IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS REL ATED TO USE OF B ATTERIE S
16.1 Use ONLY the typ e and size of batter ies
speci fied in the owner’s manual . There is a risk of explosio n if batteries are repl aced with an incorrect type.
16. 2 U se ONLY the en cl os ed lit hi um rec ha rg ea ble ba tt ery and /or th e ad apt er pro vi de d for the Par ent Unit. DO NOT attempt to replace the battery or you w ill severely damag e the unit .
16. 3 Cha rge the b attery for 9 h ours prior to fi rst use. Be sur e to have the monitor in the OFF po si ti o n du ri ng th is per io d. ON LY us e the ada pt ers included with your monitor.
16.4 DO NOT use these adapters with any other equipments.
16. 5 When unplugging the adapter from the Nursery Unit, be sure it is switched to the OFF position. If it isn’t, th e u nit will revert to battery mode if b atteries are installed .
16.6 DO NOT use rechargeable batte ries in the Nursery Unit. Use alkaline batteries ONLY.
16.7 DO NOT dispos e batterie s in fire. Th ey may ex pl od e. Ch eck w it h lo c al reg ul ati on s fo r p os si bl e special disposal instructions.
16. 8 Exe rcise care in ha ndling batterie s i n o rder not to shor t out the batterie s with conducting materi als su ch as rings , bra celets and keys. Overcharging, short circuiting, reverse charging, mutila tion, or incineration of batteries must be avoided to prevent one or more of the fo llowing occ urr enc es: rele ase o f toxi c materials , rel eas e of hydroge n and /or oxygen, g as an d rise in surfa ce temperature.
16.9 DO NOT attempt to recharge bat teries provide d with or identifi ed for us e with this produ ct that are not inten ded to be char ged. The batterie s may leak corrosive electrolyte or explode.
16.10 D O NO T at te mpt t o re ju ve na te th e ba tt er i es provide d with or identifi ed for us e with this product by heating them. Sudden release of battery elec trolyte may occur, causing burns or irrita tion to eyes or s kin.
16.11 If and when necessary, the batteries must be rep la ce d wi th ide nt ic al new on es o r eq ui va le nt (volts and size). If a batte ry to be replaced is conne cted with o ther batteries in series, replace the other batteries at the same time as well. DO NOT m ix old and new batter ies.
16.12 Re ve rs e p ol ar it y i ns ta ll at io n o f th e ba tteri es in the end product mus t be avoided. Reverse inser tion of batteries can cause chargi ng, and that may re sult in le akage or explosio n.

2) Charge the unit for 9 continuous hours (prior to first use).

STRANGULATION HAZARD.
Children have STRANGLED in cords:
• Keep adapter cords out of the reach of children (more than 1 meter away).
• Because of the serious strangulation risk to infants and toddlers, parents and caregivers should never place the Nursery Unit within 1 meter of a crib.
NEVER use Sensor Pad without the cord covers. Check cord covers before each use to ensure it is securely placed under the leg of the crib. Discontinue use of Sensor Pad if any cord covers are damaged or broken.
NEVER use extension cords with adapters. ONLY use the adapters provided. This product is not a toy. Never allow children to play with it.
