10. Th is monitor use s public air waves to transmit si gnals. The P arent Unit may pick up sign als or interfer ence from other nu rsery monitor s in your area. Your monitor may e ven be picked up by other h ouseholds. To prote ct your privacy, ma ke sure both units are t urned OFF when not in us e.
11. Th is product is NOT a toy. DO N OT allow children to p lay with it.
12. T his product con tains small par ts. Adult asse mbly required . Exercise
care when unpacking and assembling the product and keep small parts away from chil dren.
13. Wh en using the mon itor, the room tempera ture should be bet ween 10°C and 4 0°C.
BATTERY WARNING
14. Th e Parent Unit b atteries are re placeable Ni ckel-Meta l-Hydride ba tteries.
The Wirel ess Sensor Pad ba ttery is a replac eable Button Ce ll Lithium battery. Only use the Angelcare recommended replacement battery. Danger of explosio n if the wrong batter y is used or if repla ced incorrect ly. Refer to your user m anual for correc t battery install ation. DO NOT shor t circuit supply ter minals. Onl y use the Angel care provided p ower adapter to cha rge the batter y. Remove the ba ttery from your P arent Unit if prod uct is to be stored for a n extended perio d of time. Dispos e of batteries acco rding to your loca l ordinances. T he Button cell ba ttery represe nts a small part and a choki ng hazard. ALWAYS keep all bat teries away from chi ldren.
15. IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
15.1 H eed all warning s – All warnings on th e product and in the op erating
instruc tions should be a dhered to.
15.2 Follow all instru ctions – All ope rating and use ins tructions sho uld be followed.
15.3 Water and moisture - D O NOT use this appar atus near water. For example, n ear a bath tub, wash b owl, kitchen sink , laundry tub , in a wet environm ent or near a swimm ing pool and the li ke. Care should b e taken so that obje cts DO NOT fall onto u nits and that liquid s are not spilled into either un it or Sensor Pad thr ough its openin gs.
15.4 Cleaning - Disco nnect all unit s before cleanin g. DO NOT immerse i n water any par t of the monitor. Clea n only with dry cloth .
15.5 Ventilation - DO NOT blo ck any ventilation o penings. Al low for proper ventilatio n when units are in u se. DO NOT cover the Nu rsery Unit or the Parent Un it with any object suc h as a blanket. DO NOT pla ce it in a drawer or in any loc ation which would m uffle the soun d or interfere with t he normal fl ow of air.
15.6 Heat sources - DO NOT i nstall near any h eat sources suc h as radiators, heat regis ters, stoves, T Vs or other apparatu s (including am plifiers) that produce h eat. Heat can da mage the case or el ectrical par ts.
15.7 Power cord protectio n - Protect the Sens or Pad cord and adapter ’s power cord from bein g walked on or pinch ed by furniture or other ite ms – Power supply cord s should be route d so that they are not likel y to be walked on or pinc hed by items upon or a gainst them, payi ng particular a ttention to cords an d plugs, conveni ence receptac le, and the point wh ere they exit from the p roduct. The socket o utlet shall be insta lled near the equi pment and shall be e asily accessib le. Make sure to plug t he adapter to the soc ket outlet neares t to the equip ment and that is ea sily accessible . To d isconnect from ma ins, unplug the adapter.
15.8 Accessories - Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
DO NOT place t his product on an u nstable car t, stand, tripo d, bracket or table. T he product may fa ll, causing se rious injury to a ch ild or adult and serio us damage to the pro duct. Use ONLY with a c art, stand, tr ipod, bracket or t able recommen ded by the manufa cturer or sold wit h the product. Any mounting of the product should follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
15.9 Unplug this app liance during li ghtning storms or w hen not used for long peri ods of time.
15.10 Servicing - DO N OT attempt to servic e this product you rself as opening o r removing covers (except b attery door) may exp ose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards.
15.11 Replacement pa rts - When repla cement parts a re required, be s ure the replacement parts specified by the manufacturer have the same charac teristic as the orig inal part. Un authorized subs titution may result in fire, el ectric shock or ot her hazards.
15.12 Usage - This baby mo nitor is intended a s an aid. It is NOT a subs titute for respo nsible and pro per adult sup ervision an d should not be u sed as such. Use this ap pliance ONLY for its in tended use as desc ribed in this man ual.
15.13 Power Sources - Ope rate this product o nly from the type o f power source ind icated on the type pla te of the adaptor. If you are uns ure of the type of powe r supply to your home , consult your dea ler or local powe r company.
15.14 Overloading - DO N OT overload wall outl ets, extension c ords or integral co nvenience recep tacles as this can r esult in a risk of fire o r electric shock.
15.15 Objec t and Liquid Entr y - NEVER push ob jects of any kind in to this product t hrough casing slo ts as they may touch dan gerous voltage poi nts or short o ut parts that co uld result in a risk of f ire or electric s hock. NEVER spill liqu id of any kind on the pro duct.

15.16 Antenna - The anten na used for this tra nsmitter must b e installed to provide a se paration dista nce of at least 20 cm fro m all persons an d must not be c ollocated or ope rating in conjunc tion with any other an tenna or tr ansmi tter.
15.17 P ower Lines - An outs ide antenna syste m should NOT be loc ated in the vicin ity of overhead powe r lines or other ele ctric light or powe r circuit, o r where it can fall i nto such power lines o r circuits as cont act with them may b e fatal.
15.18 Vibration Sourc e - When the monitor i s in use, DO NOT use a be dside crib, cot mo bile or other cot ac cessories tha t may produce vibr ations. Othe r sources of vi brations may incl ude fans, wash ing machines , loud music, etc . These sou rces of vibration may i nterfere with the p erformance of yo ur Angelcare® monitor an d the alarm will not s ound if it continue s to detect any movemen t other than your ba by’s. Be sure all vib ration sources ar e elimina ted before using th e monitor.
15.19 You may exper ience false ala rms for several reas ons. The most comm on reason is the Nu rsery Unit has n ot been turned OFF after you ha ve removed your baby fro m the cot. Another r eason is the Senso r Pad has not been pl aced under the ma ttress properl y. Be sure the S ensor Pad is on a fla t, firm surface w ith the Angelca re® logo side faci ng up. The sensitivi ty level may also need to b e adjusted. Refer to Step 5.2. Always b e sure to immediate ly check on baby whe never an alarm sounds.
15.20 Sensor Pad - Your Se nsor Pad can be u sed in any cot that is s tationary. If the cot has a s pring or slat bas e, place a hard bo ard between the c ot base and the Sen sor Pad measuri ng at least 33 x 33 cm a nd 6 mm thick. Only use your Angelcare® monitor in a s tationary sle eping environm ent such as a cot where th e Sensor Pad can rest o n a completely fla t, firm surface . The Senso r Pad is made of plasti c and does not permi t the air to circulate. Therefor e, mildew b uild up co uld develo p under neath the m attres s in the Sen sor Pad area. We s uggest rotatin g the mattress re gularly to preve nt any mildew.
16. I MPORTANT SAFET Y INSTRUCT IONS RELATED TO U SE OF BATTERIES
16.1 U se ONLY the type and siz e of battery spec ified in the owne r’s manual.
There is a ris k of explosion if bat tery is replace d with an incorrec t type.
16.2 Charge the bat tery for 10 hours p rior to first use. Be s ure to have the monitor in th e OFF position during t his period. ON LY use the adapters included with your monitor.
16.3 DO NOT use these ada pters with any other e quipment.
16.4 When un plugging the ad apter from the Nur sery Unit, be sur e it is switched to th e OFF position .
16.5 DO NOT dispose bat teries in fire. The y may explode. Chec k with local
regulati ons for possible s pecial dispos al instructio ns.
16.6 Exercise care in ha ndling batte ries in order no t to short out the b atteries with condu cting material s such as rings, b racelets and keys . Overchargin g, short ci rcuiting, reverse c harging, muti lation, or incin eration of batter ies must be avoid ed to prevent one or mo re of the following o ccurrences: release of tox ic materials, re lease of hydrogen a nd/or oxygen, gas a nd rise in sur face temperatu re.
16.7 DO NOT attempt to rejuve nate the battery p rovided with or ide ntified for use with th is product by heati ng them. Sudde n release of batte ry electro lyte may occur, causi ng burns or irrita tion to eyes or skin.
16.8 If and when nece ssary, the batter y must be replac ed with identical new ones or e quivalent (volts a nd size).
16.9 Reverse polarit y installation of the b atteries in the end pr oduct must be avoided . Reverse inserti on of batteries ca n cause chargi ng, and that may result in l eakage or explos ion.
16.10 Remove the batter y from the Parent Un it if you store the prod uct over 30 days bec ause the batter y could leak and d amage the produ ct.
16.11 Discard ‘dead’ b atteries as soo n as possible sinc e ‘dead’ batteri es are more likely t o leak in a product. I f a battery has lea ked or vented, it sho uld be replac ed immediately u sing protective glo ves.
16.12 DO NOT store this prod uct, or the batte ry provided with o r identified for use with th is product, in hi gh-temperatu re areas.

STEP 1 - CHARGING THE PARENT UNIT (10 HOURS)

STRANGULATION HAZARD.
Children have STRANGLED in cords:
• Keep adapter cords out of the reach of children (more than 1 meter away).
• Because of the serious strangulation risk to infants and toddlers, parents and caregivers should never place the Nursery Unit within 1 meter of a cot.
• NEVER use extension cords with adapters. ONLY use the adapters provided. This product is not a toy. Never allow children to play with it.

STEP 2 - POSITIONING THE MOVEMENT SENSOR PAD
WARNING
2.1 - POWERING THE MOVEMENT SENSOR PAD
When using the Sensor Pad for the first time, you will need to insert the provided CR3032 battery.
1) Remove the battery cover using a coin. Turn in the direction of the arrow.
2) Place the included battery (CR3032) in the compartment. Note: The + symbol should be facing up.
3) Replace the battery cover (the two dots will line up).
2.2 - INSTALL THE SENSOR PAD ON THE MATTRESS SUPPORT
IMPORTANT
If your cot does not have a solid, stable surface for the Sensor Pad, you will need to place a support under it, to ensure correct operation of the system.
This hardboard support should be at least 6 mm thick and should have minimum dimensions of 33 cm x 33 cm. This support board must be larger than the Sensor Pad surface area.
The Sensor Pad functions with any size and type of mattress except memory-foam mattresses, hollow frame mattresses and water beds. The hardboard maintains a constant pressure on the Sensor Pad, enabling it to detect baby’s movements even when baby is at the edge of the cot.

STRANGULATION HAZARD
• The Sensor Pad is not designed for use with adults, children or infants older than 24 months.
• Discontinue used of the Sensor Pad when baby is older than 24 months. Deactivate the Movement Function and remove Sensor Pad from cot and store for future use.
• BEFORE FIRST TIME USE: To test that the unit is ready for use, refer to instruction manual on how to test that the installation has been done correctly.
1) Remove the mattress from the cot.
2) Place the Sensor Pad - Angelcare
center of the mattress. It should be centered on the hardboard if your cot requires a hardboard support.
3) Replace the mattress.

STEP 3 - SETTING UP THE NURSERY UNIT
3.1 - SELECT A LOCATION FOR THE NURSERY UNIT
IMPORTANT
Place the cot near a supporting wall and far from air currents. Install the Nursery Unit on a flat, stable surface facing the cot at a distance of at least 1 meter. Make sure to plug the adapter to the socket outlet nearest to the equipment and that is easily accessible.
1) Remove the batteries cover and insert 2 AAA Alkaline Batteries (not included)

Note: Each time you power ON your Nursery Unit, the internal thermometer will need to
calibrate to ensure accuracy. This automatic process will take approximately 30 minutes. The colour changing temperature display, by default, will be turned “OFF”. You may turn this feature “ON” in the settings mode on your Parent Unit.
2) Install the Nursery Unit on a flat, stable surface facing the cot at a distance of at least 1 meter.
3) Check to make sure the Sensor Pad has not moved from position.
4) Place the mattress back inside the cot.
5) Connect the adapter to the Nursery Unit and into an electrical outlet.
