Operation: Attach door (continued)
NOTE: The top and bottom hinge pins can be moved in or out to adjust the amount of pressure on the rope gasket when the door is closed. They also balance the gasket pressure between the left and right sides. The top hinge pin can be moved left or right to adjust the centering of the rope gasket on the door frame
The following 4 tests check the door alignment and pressure.
4. The 1st test described in the photo below, gives a visual indication that the pressure will be fairly even across the door. This is a approximate measurement but will give you a quick idea if the hinge pins need to be adjusted.
As you close the door the gasket on the hinge side should start to compress against the left frame when the cam is even with the right side frame.
5. The 2nd test confirms that the pressure is strong enough to provide a tight seal.
Cut photocopy grade paper into a 2-2.5”x 8-9” strip. Insert the strip at top, close door and attempt to remove. The paper must be tightly held and cannot be pulled out. The pressure must be such that the paper will tear before it slides out. Repeat at side left, side right, and bottom center.
