INFORMATION

SUBMITTAL DATA 497HRV70-4-03
ALDES Pool Model Heat Recover Ventilators are designed to exhaust humid air from indoor swimming pools and spa area and to supply tempered fresh air from outdoors. It incorporates an efficient aluminum core for heat recovery of waste heat to temper the fresh outdoor air, to provide and economical solution to excessive humidity, odor, stuffiness, and other indoor air pollutants. The model P700SDD is intended for small commercial, institutional, and residential applications for pool and wetted deck areas up to 700 square feet.
The pool model has three modes of operation to meet the unique needs of pools. The normal ventilation mode provides exhaust of humid air and supply of fresh outdoor air, with heat recovery in the efficient aluminum cores. This mode is controlled by an adjustable dehumidistat that opens the fresh air damper to the outdoor air intake, and operates both the supply and exhaust fans. (A duct heater or hot water coil may be installed in the supply duct to provide additional heat to the incoming air or recirculating air. This heater would be controlled by a duct mounted thermostat.)
The second mode of operation occurs when the humidity level falls below the setpoint of the dehumidistat. The exhaust fan shuts off, the supply air damper closes off outdoor air, and opens

the recirculation air circuit. This mode maintains constant air circulation in the conditioned space, and a means of heating the conditioned space if a duct heater or hot water coil is installed in the supply duct.
The third mode of operation provides automatic defrost by shutting off fresh air intake in a cycle of 4.5 minutes off, 17 minutes on. The defrost cycle occurs when outdoor temperatures are below 27°F (-3°C)

Defrost: Pool and Defrost air bypass routes air to defrost core. Light indicates when automatic damper defrost occurs (preset at 27°F (-3°C).
Duct Connections: Five 14" X 8" (356mm X 200mm H).
Drain Connections: Two 1/2" O.D.
Mounting: Unit to be set in support brackets hung by threaded rod type apparatus. (Brackets and rod not provided).

It is a technically advanced con- |

trolled mechanical ventilation sys- |

tem designed to meet the require- |
ments of modern, tightly built and |
highly insulated buildings. It pro- |

vides a consistent supply of fresh |
air while lowering heating costs |
during the winter by transferring |
heat from the exhaust air to the |
fresh air stream. During the sum- |
mer it also reduces the load on the |
air conditioner by lowering the tem- |
perature of the fresh outdoor air. |
(For southern climates, where air |
conditioning costs are the major |
concern, it can be provided with an |

enthalpy core, on special order, to |

reduce the humidity of the fresh air |

as well as lower the temperature.) |

The system provides an economi- |

stuffiness, and |

other indoor air pollutants. |
