PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID POSSIBLE EXPOSURE
TO EXCESSIVE MICROWAVE ENERGY
a. DO NOT attempt to operate this oven with the
door open since open-door operation can result in harmful exposure to microwave energy. It is important not to defeat or tamper with the safety interlocks.
b. DO NOT place any object between the oven front
face and the door or allow soil or cleaner residue to accumulate on sealing surfaces.
Caution
To avoid personal injury or property damage, observe the following:
1. Briskly stir or pour liquids before heating to prevent spontaneous boiling or eruption. Do not overheat. If air is not mixed into a liquid, liquid can erupt in oven or after removal from oven.
2. If food smokes or ignites:
Do not open door.
Turn oven off.
Disconnect power cord.
Shut off power at fuse or circuit breaker.
3. Do not deep fat fry in oven. Fat could overheat and be hazardous to handle.
4. Do not cook or reheat eggs in shell or with an unbroken yolk. Pressure may build up and erupt. Pierce yolk with fork or knife before cooking.
5. Use only popcorn in packages designed and labeled for microwave use. Pop according to package directions, beginning with the minimum amount of time recommended. Do not continue to heat after popping has stopped. Popcorn will scorch or burn. Do not leave oven unattended.
c. DO NOT operate the oven if it is damaged. It
is particularly important that the oven door close properly and that there is no damage to the: (1) door (bent), (2) hinges and latches (broken or loosened), (3) door seals and sealing surfaces.
d. The oven should NOT be adjusted or repaired
by anyone except properly qualified service personnel.
6. Do not heat baby bottles in oven.
7. Do not use regular cooking thermometers in oven. Most cooking thermometers contain mercury and may cause “arcing”, malfunction, and/or damage to oven.
8. Do not use metal utensils in oven except when recommended by microwave food manufacturers. Heat food in containers made of glass, plastic, paper, or china.
9. Never use newspapers in oven since paper may ignite.
10. Do not use paper towels which contain nylon or other synthetic fibers. Heated synthetics could melt and cause paper to ignite.
11. Do not heat sealed containers or plastic bags in oven. Food or liquid could expand quickly and cause container or bag to break. Pierce or open container or bag before heating.
12. Containers may become hot. Pot holders may be needed.

Electrical Requirements
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES CUT OR REMOVE THE ROUND GROUNDING PRONG FROM THE PLUG OR BEND THE POWER PRONGS TO FIT A RECEPTACLE OTHER THAN THE ONE SHOWN FOR YOUR OVEN. SUCH ABUSE OF THE PLUG CAN RESULT IN ELECTRICAL SHOCKS OR OVERHEATING.
WARNING - IMPROPER USE OF THE GROUNDING PLUG
CAN RESULT IN A RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK OR DEATH.
This appliance MUST be grounded. In the event of an electrical short circuit, grounding reduces the risk of electric shock by providing an escape wire for the electric current. This appliance is equipped with a cord having a grounding wire with a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded. DO NOT use a two-prong adapter.
Consult a qualified electrician or servicer if the grounding instructions are not completely understood, or if doubt exists as to whether the appliance is properly grounded.
Do not use an extension cord. If the product power cord is too short, have a qualified electrician install a three-slot receptacle. This oven should be plugged into a separate 60 hertz circuit with the electrical rating as shown in the appropriate drawing at left. When a microwave oven is on a circuit with other appliances, an increase in cooking times may be required and fuses can be blown.
Radio Interference
Oven operation may cause interference to radio, TV, or similar equipment. Reduce or eliminate interference by doing the following:
Clean door and sealing surfaces of oven
according to instructions in "Care and Cleaning" section.
Place radio, TV, etc. as far away as possible
from oven.
Use a properly installed antenna on radio, TV,
etc. to obtain stronger signal reception.
Installation
Unpacking Oven
Inspect oven for damage such as
dents in door or inside oven cavity.
Report any dents or breakage to source of
purchase immediately.
Oven Placement
Do not install oven next to or above source of
heat, such as pizza oven or deep fat fryer. Excessive heat may cause oven to operate improperly and shorten life of electrical parts.
Allow air flow around unit. Leave at least 5/8
inch between air discharge on back of oven and back wall. Cord wrap projection on back of oven ensures 5/8 inch spacing. Restricted air flow may cause oven to operate improperly and shorten life of electrical parts.

Service Codes
During operation, the display may show the following service codes:
S1
CS
FL
FH
PL
HOT
HI
LO PCE 1 PCE 5 PCE 6
Before Calling for Service
Important
Contact an authorized servicer if the display shows any code except "HOT", "HI", and "LO". Service must be performed before using oven.
If display shows "HOT", oven's magnetron is
overheated. Oven automatically interrupts cooking sequence and turns on cooling fan until normal temperature is reached. When magnetron cools to normal temperature, oven resumes operation.
If display shows "HI" or "LO", input voltage is
too high or too low . Because cooking results will not be representative of normal cooking pattern, oven is not usable during this condition. When voltage returns to normal range, oven resumes operation.
If oven does not operate:
Confirm oven is plugged into dedicated
circuit.
Confirm oven is on grounded and polarized
circuit. (Contact electrician to confirm this.)
Check fuse or circuit breaker. Plug in another
item at that wall outlet.
If oven operates intermittently:
Check inlet and discharge areas for
obstructions.
Confirm oven was not operated empty or with
metal utensils.
If oven operates, but will not heat food:
Place one cup cool water in oven. Heat for
one minute. If water temperature does not rise, oven is operating incorrectly.
If oven operates, but food has "hot spots" (cooking unevenly):
Open oven door. Verify antenna's rotating
shadow is visible above splatter shield.
WARNING
To avoid electrical shock which can cause severe personal injury or death, do not remove outer case at any time. Only authorized servicer should remove outer case.
