Freestyle Keys for X701D-F/ X901D-F

Removal of Key Caps

The Key caps can be removed to allow either horizontal or
vertical installation. Since the Mute and Menu key are not
square, you will find 2 spare key caps with horizontal print.

The mapping of the keys can be assigned to the driver’s
needs within the limitations of the physical shape of the
key caps.
Keys A, B, C, F, G, H can be interchanged
Keys D and I can be interchanged
Keys E and J can be mapped differently, but the shape
does not allow to swap the key cap from left to right.
One application is to swap the volume control from the
left to the right for right hand drive cars.

Assign New Key Mapping

Disconnect the black 2 pin connector in
the harness that connects the keys to the
main unit. Push and hold the two keys
near the reset hole (keys I and J) in this
image) for 1 second. To assign the keys,
each keys need to be pressed for 1
second. First key pressed will become the
Favorites ( ) Key, second key pressed
will become the Volume up key. Please see table for the complete
sequence. Once the last key was mapped, reconnect the black 2 pin
connector and check the configuration.

Changing the Illumination Color

12 illumination presets are available to choose from. See table for
details. To toggle the colors, push keys FAV( ), VOL , Mute
simultaneously. Repeat until desired color is selected.
