The Duty Stat ions shall be shall be Alpha Communicat ions®
AlphaLinQ™ 100 series model VDS150, or approved equal. Both
visual and audible indication of normal and emergency c all shall be
provided. A solid state Red L.E.D. indicat or shall provide a steady
signal for normal calls and a flashing signal for emergency calls. A
"Tone-Off" switch shall be provided to silence the buzzer for non­emergency calls only. T he st ation(s) shall c onsist of reliable
components mounted on a durable fire-retardant (UL® 94V-0)
white plastic faceplate, and shall have positive sc rew t erminals for
elect rical connect ions.

The Red "CALL PLACED" L.E.D. indicator shall flash to assure the
patient that the call has been placed. Switc hing mec hanism shall
consist of a reliable DPDT switc h.

All electronic components needed for these feat ures shall be
mounted on a printed c ircuit board and all station components
shall be mounted an a rugged ABS plastic fac eplate. The station(s)
shall be installed in a single gang ring with square box. Plug-in
connectors shall be provided for connec tions. The VDS150 shall be
UL® 1069 Listed t o the latest standards.

Contractor shall observe all local and national electrical and
building codes.

The Alpha Communications® VDS150 Duty Station provides an
indication of incoming calls in work areas away from t he Nurse Call
Master Control Station(s).

Normal calls are indicat ed by a steady light and intermittent t one.
Emergency c alls take prec edence and are indicat ed by a flashing
solid state LED light and a pulsating tone. A "Tone-Off" slide
switc h permits silencing of the t one signal for normal c alls only. All
elect ronic c omponents are mounted on a circuit board.
The VDS150 features a built-in Red LED and electronic buzzer.

The VDS150 is used primarily with the AlphaLinQ™ 100 series
visual nurse-call system, but c an be used and is backwards
compat ible with some older syst ems as well. The VDS150 is U.L.
1069 listed, to t he latest standards.
