The specialty relay module(s) shall be
Alpha Communicat ions® RY012AM or
equivalent. Relay shall operate from a
12VDC primary voltage source, and shall
provide a 'Form C' dry c ontact relay
output, as long as the 12VDC source is
present. All wiring to relay shall be low­voltage Class II wiring, installed as per all
federal, state, and local electrical codes.
Relay shall surface mount right t o the
finished wall and shall be installed in a
suitable environment that is free from
excessive dirt, dust, temperature,
humidity, grease and water. Relay can
also be mounted behind a calling stations,
using the provided mounting holes and
cable tie or wire wrap.

Contractor shall observe all local and
national elect rical and building c odes.

The Alpha Communications® RY012AM spec ialty relay modules are used for a variety of
reasons. They are primarily used with room calling stations on t he AlphaEcall™ 200 series
emergency- c all systems. It c an also be used to provide a 'Form C' relay contac t from
virtually any 12VDC input source. The RY012AM can even be powered direct ly from a 12VDC
power supply.

As long as a 12VDC source is present, t he RY012AM will engage, providing a normally-open
and a normally c losed set of contac ts, with a shared 'common' screw terminal.

The RY012AM relays are designed to easily surfac e mount right onto t he finished wall by
means of self-st ick mounting tabs (provided by others) or by using the mounting holes
provided for screw mounting. Convenient mounting holes also allow these relays to be
mounted behind calling devices by means of a cable tie or wire wrap.

Connect ions are positive sc rew t erminal type, using a barrier type t erminal connect or strip.
