Installation Instructions for
PM368K/KM Short Haul Modem Kit
used with Tek-CARE®NC300II Nurse Call System
APPLICATION
TekTone®’s PM368K/KM Short Haul Modem Kit increases
the distance of Tek-CARE®NC300II signaling data by
converting RS232 signaling to RS422 signaling. This allows
a serial printer, Tek-PAGING® system or Tek-MMARS®II
system to be placed up to 2000' away from the TekCARE®NC300II Central Equipment using CA T5 cable. The
PM368K/KM provides support for the CTS/RTS signals
needed for supervision functionality.
Each PM368K Kit (used with T ek-P AGING®) includes:
• Two PM368 short haul modems
• Two SS368 power transformers
• Four connector cable assemblies
(Two CT544s, one CT545 and one CT546)

Each PM368KM Kit (used with T ek-MMARS®II or a serial
printer) includes:
• Two PM368 short haul modems
• Two SS368 power transformers
• Four connector cable assemblies
(one each CT544, CT545, CT546 and CT547)
INSTALLATION
1 . Make all connections as shown in Figure 1, Figure 2 and
Figure 3. All connector assemblies are labeled and must
be connected in the correct order and position.
2 . Plug the SS368 power transformers into a 120VAC outlet.
