The specialty relay assembly shall be Alpha
Communications® PK407A or equivalent. Relay
shall operate from a 12VAC to 16VAC primary
voltage source, and shall provide a 'Form C' dry
contac t relay output, as long as t he 12VAC to
16VAC source is present. All wiring to relay shall
be low-voltage Class II wiring, installed as per all
federal, state, and local electrical codes. Relay
shall surfac e mount right to the finished wall and
shall be installed in a suitable environment t hat
is free from excessive dirt, dust , t emperature,
humidity, grease and water.

Contractor shall observe all local and national
elect rical and building c odes.

PK407A Specialty RelayPK407A Specialty Relay

The Alpha Communications® PK407A specialty relays are used for a variety of
reasons. The PK407A c an be c onnec ted to a standard 12VAC or 16VAC electric door
opener output from many intercom amplifiers to allow c onnec tion to a magnetic or
different t ype or voltage door opener. It can also be used t o provide a 'Form C'
relay cont act from virtually any 12VAC-16VAC input source. The PK407A can even
be powered direct ly from a 12VAC or 16VAC transformer.

As long as a 12VAC to 16VAC source is present, the PK407A will engage, providing a
normally-open and a normally closed set of c ontacts, with a shared 'common'
screw terminal.

The PK407A relays are designed to easily surface mount right onto the finished wall
by means of self- stick mounting tabs or by using the mounting holes provided for
screw mounting.

Connect ions are positive sc rew t erminal type, using a barrier type t erminal connect or
strip.
