The battery charger(s) shall be Alpha Communications® / TekTone
model PK124, or approved equal, and shall be used in conjunct ion
with (2) 12 VDC batt eries, model BA001 or approved equivalent.
The PK124 shall provide continuous batt ery c harging for
approximately 6 hours for uninterrupted equipment operation during
power failures. Contractor shall furnish and install the necessary
inline fuses t o be connec ted to the BA001 batt eries.

Positive sc rew terminals shall be provided for connect ions. The

PK124 batt ery c harger shall be of rugged const ruction and modular

integrated c ircuit design.

The PK124 shall be mountable right t o t he surfac e of the wall or in
the optional model IH151N U.L.® Listed junction box cabinet.

Contractor shall observe all local and national electrical and
building c odes.

The Alpha Communications® / TekTone PK124 battery
charger, when used in conjunct ion with (2) BA001 - 12
VDC batteries, provides for continuous battery charging so that if
power syst em equipment is interrupted, st andby operating power is
provided for up to approximately 6 hours. (Time may vary
depending on system size.) Alpha Communic at ions® syst ems which
support the PK124 include NC110A, NC110N, NC150N and NC200N
Nurse Call Systems, DS100 Door Sentry Audible/Visual Emergency
Alarm Syst em, and Alpha Ecall™/CM800/CM900 Emergency-Call
System(s), as well as the NC150R Area of Refuge
Assistanc e systems.

The PK124 may also be used for batt ery bac kup on various Alpha
Communic at ions® apartment entrance syst em amplifiers.
