The coax camera to digital video converter unit(s) shall be Alpha
Communications® / S.T.R.™ model KBS3-2, or approved equal.
The KBS3-2 shall be built into a protect ive high impact ABS plastic
case, for surface mounting. The KBS3-2 shall be powered by t he

TT 33-2 (or T TE33-2) speaker / microphone assembly, when not

using a standard S.T .R.™ QwikBUS™, with t he provided wiring
harnesses.

One KBS3-2 shall be required for eac h c ustomer provided camera
that c ontractor will connec t to the Alpha Communicat ions® /
S.T.R.™ 2-wire QwikBUS™ video-intercom syst em, other than a
standard S.T .R.™ QwikBUS™ type.

Low voltage wiring shall be used. T he KBS3-2 shall be mountable
right t o t he surfac e of the wall or in a cust omer-supplied junction
box cabinet.

Contractor shall observe all local and national electrical and
building codes.

UnitUnit

The Alpha Communicat ions® / S.T .R.™ KBS3-2 c oax camera to
digital video c onverter unit is used only with t he S.T.R.™ 2-wire

QwikBUS™ series video-intercom systems, when a c ustomer

wishes to use t heir own separate CCTV c amera and camera power
supply. The KBS3-2 is used to c onvert the video data signal from
cust omer's camera's convent ional NTSC coax signal, to a digital
signal to be sent t o the 2-wire QwikBUS™ video monitor(s).

The KBS3-2 gets its power from the TT 33-2 (or T TE33-2) speaker
/ microphone module and does not require a separate power
supply.

Each camera connec ted to the QwikBUS™ series video- intercom
system, requires its own separate power supply (provided by t he
installer).
