The coax camera to digital video converter unit(s) shall be Alpha
Communications® / S.T.R.™ model KBS-3, or approved equal. The

KBS-3 shall be built into a protective high impact ABS plastic case,

for surface mounting. The KBS-3 shall be powered by the TT 33 or

TT 33-2 speaker/microphone assembly, when not using a st andard

S.T.R.™ QwikBUS™, with the provided wiring harnesses.

One KBS- 3 shall be required for each lobby panel c amera that
contract or will connect to t he Alpha Communications®/S.T.R.™

QwikBUS™ video-intercom system, other t han a st andard

S.T.R.™ QwikBUS™ t ype.

Low voltage wiring shall be used. T he KBS-3 shall be mountable
right t o t he surfac e of the wall or in a cust omer- supplied junction
box cabinet.

Contractor shall observe all local and national electrical and
building c odes.

The Alpha Communications® / S.T.R.™ KBS- 3 c oax camera to
digital video c onverter unit is used only with t he S.T.R.™

QwikBUS™ series video-intercom systems, when using the TT33 or
TT 33-2 t ype lobby panel speaker/microphone assembly. T he KBS-3

is used to convert t he video dat a signal from the lobby entry
camera's c onventional NT SC c oax signal, to a digital signal to
be sent to the QwikBUS™ video monitor(s).

The KBS- 3 gets its power from the T T33 or TT 33-2
speaker/microphone module and does not require a separate power
supply.

Each lobby camera connec ted to the QwikBUS™ series video-
intercom system, requires one (1) KBS-3 converter.
