The coax to digital video converter unit(s) shall be Alpha
Communications® / S.T.R.™ model KBS-1, or approved equal. The

KBS-1 shall be built into a rugged high impact ABS plastic c ase,

and shall be powered by t he model NGC20 DC power supply.

One KBS-1 (and NGC20) shall be required for eac h c amera that
contract or will connect to t he Alpha Communications®/S.T .R.™
'NoCoax' video-intercom system.

Low voltage wiring shall be used and positive screw terminal
connectors shall be provided for installation wiring. The KBS-1 shall
be mountable right to the surface of t he wall or in a c ustomer­supplied junction box cabinet.

Contractor shall observe all local and national electrical and
building codes.

KBS-1 Coax to Digital Video Converter UnitKBS-1 Coax to Digital Video Converter Unit

The Alpha Communications® / S.T.R.™ KBS- 1 c oax to digital video
converter unit is used only with the VH30ANC and VH30CNC series
'NoCoax' video-intercom systems. T he KBS-1 is used to convert
the video data signal from the lobby entry camera coax to a digital
signal to be sent t o the 'NoCoax' video monitor(s).

The KBS- 1 gets its power from the NGC20 DC power supply. All

KBS- 1 c onnections are positive screw terminal type.

Each lobby (or other camera) connect ed to the 'NoCoax' series
video-interc om syst em, requires one (1) KBS-1 converter (and
assoc iated NGC20 power supply).
