The Code Call / Code Blue Push/Pull Stat ions shall be shall be Alpha
Communications® AlphaLinQ™ 100 series model EPS156, or
approved equal. Operation of emergency signals shall
be ac complished by a short pull on the (optional model CA015K
nylon cord or CA016K TPU plastic cord) or by pulling / pushing
down on the Blue lever marked 'CODE'.

The Red "CALL PLACED" L.E.D. indicator shall flash to assure the
patient that the call has been placed. Switc hing mechanism shall
consist of a reliable DPDT switc h. T he EPS156 shall be used
in conjunction with a AC153 third priority c ontrol unit, t o provide a
separate and distinct flash and t one rate. The EPS156 is not a

'supervised' code call station.

The EPS156 is not designed to be used in wet or damp
environments.

All electronic components needed for these features shall be
mounted on a printed c ircuit board and all st ation c omponents
shall be mounted an a rugged ABS plastic fac eplate. The station(s)
shall be installed in a single gang ring with square box. Plug-in
connectors shall be provided for connec tions. The EPS156 shall be
UL® 1069 Listed t o the latest standards.

Contractor shall observe all local and national electrical and
building c odes.

The Alpha Communications® EPS156 Code Call / Code Blue Stat ion
may be used to operate all syst em code signals (except
'supervised' code blue applications). It may be used independently
or connec ted with ot her call stations or intercom stations. All
elect ronic c omponents are mounted on a circuit board.
The EPS156 features a built -in Red (flashing) LED.

Due t o the flexibility of its design, it may be used as a PULL CORD
CODE STATION, or a PUSH TYPE CODE CALL STATION. The
optional (model CA015K or CA016K) pull cord may be used for
emergency pull activation, or if so desired, the standard LARGE
BLUE push/pull down lever may be used.

The EPS156 is used primarily with t he AlphaLinQ™ 100 series
visual nurse-call system, but c an be used and is backwards
compat ible with some older syst ems as well. The EPS156 is U.L.
1069 listed, to t he latest standards.
