Architects' And Engineers' Specifications

The Power Supply (with Battery Back- Up) shall be Alpha
Communications® / Cornell model B-5248A or approved equivalent.
The Power Supply shall be housed in a steel (surface mount)
enclosure, painted in a baked enamel finish, and shall be
supplied with a cam lock and keys. Unit shall be approximately

15.75" H x 11.25" W x 4.50" D. The Power Supply shall provide
12VDC (8 amps) continuous supply, and shall have LED Indicat or
Diagnostics. The power supply shall operate at 115VAC/60 Hz. Unit
shall be supplied with two (2) 12VDC (7.5 Amp/Hour) batteries.
Battery t ype and size shall be sufficient to allow the master
stat ion to operate on bat tery power (in Standby Mode only) for
minimum of 24 hours.

The B-5248A shall operate on the 4800 Series Resc ue Assistance
System(s), and shall be UL 1481 Listed.

Multiple power supplies are required to ac c ommodate syst ems with
more than 50 Remote Call Stations.

Contract or shall observe all local and national electrical and
building codes.

Systems

The B-5248A Power Supply with Battery Back-Up converts a
115VAC/60 Hz. input t o a 24VDC output, and is UL 1481 Listed for
fire alarm, burglar alarm and acc ess control applicat ions. The B-

5248A Power Supply with Battery Back-Up is designed t o be used

with our 4800 series Area of Rescue Assistanc e Systems, to
provide system power and emergency back-up power
when required.

The B-5248A Power Supply comes complete with power supply,
enclosure, c am loc k (and keys), battery leads and two (2) 12VDC
batt eries.
