Installing the Unit

The AT-BRPS8000 unit can be installed on desktop or in a rack.
Caution
Do not install the unit on the floor. The case is not waterproof.
Caution
Do not connect the AT-BRPS8000 unit to an AC power source until the DC backup power cord has been connected to the AT-8324SX switch.
To install the unit, perform the following procedure:
1. Remove the AT-BRPS8000 unit from the shipping container and store the
shipping material in a safe location.
2. Place the unit on a level surface.
3. If you are installing the unit in a standard EIA 19-inch rack, do the
following:
a. Using a Phillips-head screwdriver, attach the brackets to the sides of

b. Position the AT-BRPS8000 unit in the rack by lining up the holes in
the brackets with the appropriate holes in the rack.
c. Mount the unit in the rack using the supplied screws.
Note
You should leave about two inches of space on the sides of the unit to allow for adequate ventilation.
4. If the AT-8324SX switch is not already powered ON, connect one end of the
AC power cord supplied with the switch to the AC connector on the switch
and the other end to a grounded AC power outlet (Figure 1).
5. Use the supplied star-head screwdriver to loosen the screws on the D-sub
connector faceplate and remove the faceplate from both the AT-8324SX
switch and the AT-BRPS8000 unit.
6. Connect one end of the DC cord to the redundant power connector on the
rear panel of the AT-8324SX switch, and the other end to the IEC
connector on the AT-BRPS8000 unit.
7. Connect one end of the AC power cord to the AC connector on the
AT-BRPS8000 unit, and the other end to a grounded power outlet. The
