M-SQ-SLINK Fitting Note AP11565 Issue 1
SQ SLink Option Card
M-SQ-SLINK is one of several audio networking options that can be fitted to an
Allen & Heath SQ mixer. It provides a single intelligent SLink socket with a
maximum 128x128ch and 48/96kHz operation.
Fitting the card
1. Switch the system off.
2. Use a Torx T8 driver to remove the 2 screws securing the I/O Port
blank panel to the SQ mixer.
3. Slide the card into the slot and press it firmly into the mating
connector.
4. Refit the 2 screws to secure the card.
Software and firmware
Download and install the latest version of SQ firmware:

M-SQ-SLINK requires SQ firmware V1.3 or above.

Setting clock and patching signals
Use the SQ I/O screen to patch signals to or from the I/O Port.
Use the Setup / Audio / Audio Sync screen to select the clock source for the
mixer. Typically, this is set to Internal, though can be switched to I/O Port if
connecting directly to another desk i.e. when connecting to a dLive GigaACE
option card or another SLink port.
There should only be one clock ‘master’ in a system.

Different protocols
The built-in SLink port and the port on the SLink Option Card are independent
from one another and automatically switch between 3 modes. Each port can be
in either dSnake/ME, DX or GigaACE mode.
You cannot run two different protocols on the same port
at once.
