M-DL-AES fitting note
M-DL-AES10O, M-DL-AES2I8O, M-DL-AES4I6O, M-DL-AES6I4O can be fitted to
any Allen & Heath dLive I/O Port. They provide a digital AES3 (AES/EBU)
interface to other audio equipment.
Fitting the card
1. Switch the system off.
2. Remove the 4 screws securing the I/O Port blank panel on the dLive
MixRack or Surface.
3. Slide the card into the slot and press it firmly into the mating
connector.
4. Secure the card by tightening the 4 captive thumb screws.
Setting clock and patching signals
Use the dLive I/O screen to patch signals from or to the I/O Ports.
Use the MixRack / Audio / I/O Port or Surface / Audio / I/O Port screen as
appropriate to access the sample rate options for the AES card. You can switch
the Sample Rate Conversion off for the AES3 inputs, and select the sample rate
for the AES3 outputs.
Only turn off SRC if the AES sources and dLive are
sharing the same 96kHz clock. You can sync dLive from
the first AES input on the AES card using the MixRack /
Audio / Audio Sync screen. Alternatively, you might be
able to sync the AES sources from the dLive BNC
wordclock, depending on the equipment.
For more information on dLive setup and functions please
refer to the dLive Firmware Reference Guide available for
download at www.allen-heath.com.
M-DL-AES cards require dLive firmware V1.5 or higher.
