Shredder Operation
This shredder is equipped with an Auto Start/Stop smart sensor, which allows the unit to automatically start when an item is placed into the feed opening or paper is placed in the auto-feed tray and to stop as soon as the item travels completely through the feed opening.
Shredder Capacity
• The shredder will shred up to six letter size sheets of 20 lb. bond paper at one time when inserted in the entry slot for paper. The auto-feed tray will hold up to 80 sheets of paper. When shredding Blu-ray, DVD or CD discs or credit cards, only insert one piece at a time.
Using the Auto-Feed Tray
1. Make sure the power switch is in the ON position ( – ). (The power LED
will be lit.)
2. Slide no more than 80 sheets of paper into the Auto-Feed Tray, sliding
them under the Feed Cover until you meet some resistance.
3. Holding the papers in place, press the Auto-Feed Load Button. This will
allow you to slide the papers a bit further under the Feed Cover. When you again meet resistance, release the papers and the Auto-Feed Load Button.
4. The Auto Start/Stop smart sensor will signal the shredder to start. Paper in
the Auto-Load Tray will be fed in batches to the shredder until the AutoLoad Tray is empty, at which point the shredder will stop.
5. Once you conrm that batches of paper are feeding into the shredder from
the Auto-Load Tray, you can leave the RoboShredder to complete the task. No further intervention is required.

Problems and Solutions
When a minor jam occurs, your RoboShredder will automatically reverse and then resume shredding. This will clear most jams. In case of a stall, follow the directions below.
Basic Paper Jam
The shredder should automatically eject any minor excess material from the feed openings. Manually remove any unshredded material from the top of the feed openings. If the jam occurs in the auto-feed slot, gently raise the feed cover and remove excess material from the opening.
Minor Paper Jam
Press the REVERSE button on the control panel. The shredder will reverse momentarily, then resume shredding. If shredding does not resume, remove unshredded portion of paper from the entry slot or auto-feed slot (by lifting the feed cover) and clear any excess paper shreds.
Major Paper Jam (Overload lit on LED panel)
1. Turn the power switch to the OFFposition ( ○ ) and wait at least 10
minutes for the thermal overload protection to reset.
2. Turn the power switch ON ( – ). If paper was left inside any feed opening
prior to the overload, press the REVERSE button. Be careful to not place your ngers near the feed opening or serious harm could result. Clear any excess paper shreds from the feed opening. You are now ready to resume normal shredding.
Paper Jams and Motor Overload Situations
The shredder is equipped with an automatic motor overload protection circuit. The duty cycle for the shredder is rated for continuous shredding. Recommended running time at maximum capacity is 60 minutes on and 45 minutes off when using the auto feed tray, 15 minutes off when feeding the shredder normally. The shredder will automatically terminate power if any of the following abnormal situations occur:
1. Operating the shredder at the maximum six-sheet capacity continuously for a prolonged period of time, e.g., more than 60 minutes without stopping.

Problems and Solutions
2. Exceeding the shedding capacity, e.g., inserting more than six sheets of 20 lb paper in one pass through the paper entry slot, or more than 80 sheets of 20 lb paper in the auto feed tray, or if the paper is not fed squarely into the feed opening.
Both abnormal operations may result in the activation of the automatic thermal motor overload protection circuit, which terminates power to the shredder. A paper jam could cause the thermal motor overload protection to terminate AC power to the motor. Never allow the shredder to remain in a jammed condition with the AC power turned on.
