electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your mainsoperated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power
tool.
1) Work area safety
a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas
invite accidents.
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres,
such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or
dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or
fumes.
c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a
power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
2) Electrical safety
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify
the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with
earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and
matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces,
such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There
is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or
grounded.

shock.
d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying,
pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from
heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled
cords increase the risk of electric shock.
e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension
cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for
outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
f) If operating a power tool in a damp location is
unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD) protected
supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
3) Personal safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common

tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs,
alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while
operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye
protection. Protective equipment such as dust mask, nonskid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for
appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in
the off-position before connecting to power source and/
or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying
power tools with your finger on the switch or energising power
tools that have the switch on invites accidents.

Drill safety warnings
1 ) Safety instructions for all operations
a) Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces, when
performing an operation where the cutting accessory
or fasteners may contact hidden wiring or its own cord.
Cutting accessory or fasteners contacting a “live” wire may make
exposed metal parts of the power tool “live” and could give the
operator an electric shock.
2) Safety instructions when using long drill bits
a) Never operate at higher speed than the maximum speed
rating of the drill bit. At higher speeds, the bit is likely to
bend if allowed to rotate freely without contacting the
workpiece, resulting in personal injury.
b) Always start drilling at low speed and with the bit tip
in contact with the workpiece. At higher speeds, the
bit is likely to bend if allowed to rotate freely without
contacting the workpiece, resulting in personal injury.
c) Apply pressure only in direct line with the bit and do not
apply excessive pressure. Bits can bend causing breakage
or loss of control, resulting in personal injury.

8.11 Overload Protection
When overloaded, the motor comes to a stop. Relieve the load on
the machine immediately and allow cooling for approx. 30 seconds
at the highest no-load speed.
8.12 Temperature cut out
If the drill/driver is constantly overloaded, or the drill/driver is used
constantly at maximum rating in high ambient conditions, the battery
cells may overheat causing the battery pack to shut down.
When this occurs you will need to allow the battery cells to cool.
NOTE: The drill/driver will not restart until the battery pack has cooled.
To reduce the temperature of the cells remove the battery pack from
the drill/driver and place the battery pack in a free air environment, out
of direct sunlight or any other heat source.
DO NOT force cool the pack in any way. Do not place in refrigerators or
freezers. When the battery pack has cooled down it can again be used
to operate the drill/driver, as long as the load or the conditions causing
the original excessive temperature has been corrected.
8.13 Low voltage cut out
The battery pack used on this tool is fitted with a low voltage cut out
feature within the circuitry. The low voltage cut out feature operates
when the voltage drops below a preset value. This feature automatically
stops the drill/driver from operating (similar to that of the overload
condition). When this condition occurs you will need to either insert
another battery into the drill/driver or recharge the existing battery. The
low voltage cut out feature has been added to maximise the life of the
battery cells in the battery. When this occurs, recharge the battery pack
by following the battery charging section in this manual.
NOTE: Attempting to restart the tool without either recharging the
battery or installing another battery (with charge) will lead to drill/
driver restarting and then stopping again, after only a few seconds of
operation.

12.FAQ/Troubleshooting
1. REASONS FOR DIFFERENT BATTERY PACK WORKING TIMES
Charging time problems, as above, and having not used a battery pack
for a prolonged time will reduce the battery pack working time. This
can be corrected after several charge and discharge operations by
charging & working with your drill. Heavy working conditions such as
large screws into hard wood will use up the battery pack energy faster
than lighter working conditions. Do not re-charge your battery pack
below 0
2. WHY DOES THE DRILL NOT TURN ON WHEN I PRESS THE
TRIGGER SWITCH (10)?
The forward/reverse rotation control (4) may be positioned in the lock
function position. Unlock the forward/reverse rotation control (4) by
putting it into the required rotation position – forward or reverse.
Push the trigger switch (10) and the drill / driver will start to rotate.
o
C and above 40oC as this will affect performance.
3. HOW DO I SELECT DIFFERENT TORQUE POSITIONS?
Verify the torque position of the torque adjustment ring (2). You can
find the torque adjustment ring (2) between the chuck (1) and the
drill body. Rotate the torque adjustment ring (2) to align the numbers
(screw driving force) with the triangular indicator on the top of the
drill / driver. To adjust the torque setting, rotate the torque adjustment
ring (2). The higher the number, the higher the output torque.
4. HOW DO I ADJUST THE TORQUE?
To adjust the torque setting, rotate the torque adjustment ring (2).
Position 1 is the lowest torque (screw driving force) and position 21 is
the highest torque (screw driving force).
Controlling the torque allows for better control when using the
drill / driver on specific screwing tasks and assists in preventing overfastening and over-tightening.

For setting the torque position, first select a low setting on the torque
adjustment ring (2) and align the selected number with the triangular
indicator on the top of the drill / driver.
Slowly increase the torque setting to the desired level. It is suggested to
test the setting on scrap material first.
5. HOW DO I SELECT DRILL FUNCTION?
When using the drilling function the torque control has no effect to the
output of the drill. The drill function is used when using the drill to drill
holes in metal, non ferrous material, wood, plastic and similar materials.
Rotate the torque adjustment ring (2) so the symbol of the drill bit
aligns with the triangular indicator on the top of the drill / driver.
6. HOW DO I USE THE 2 GEARS ON THE DRILL?
To select LOW speed (mark is 1) (e.g. low speed, high torque setting),
push the gear selector forward, towards the chuck. The number “1” will
be displayed.
To select the HIGH speed (mark is 2) (e.g. high speed, low torque
setting), push the gear selector backwards. The number “2” will be
displayed.
NOTE: The gears cannot be changed if the on off switch (10) is
depressed.
7. WHAT IS THE FUNCTION OF THE FORWARD/REVERSE SWITCH?
Forward/Reverse rotation control (4) allows you to change the direction
of the motor while the trigger switch (10) is not depressed.
Drill / driving uses the forward mode. The reverse mode is intended for
the removal of screws and assisting to remove jammed drill/driver bits.

electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
There
is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or
grounded.
c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions.
Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric

shock.
d) Do not abuse the cord.
3) Personal safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common
sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power
tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs,
alcohol or medication.
Carrying
power tools with your finger on the switch or energising power
tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the
power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating
part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at
all times. This enables better control of the power tool in
unexpected situations.

f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery.
Keep your hair and clothing away from moving parts. Loose
clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust
extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are
connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can
reduce dust-related hazards.
h) Do not let familiarity gained from frequent use of tools
allow you to become complacent and ignore tool safety
principles. A careless action can cause severe injury within a
fraction of a second.
4) Power tool use and care
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool
for your application. The correct power tool will do the job
better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it
on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the
switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
c) Disconnect the plug from the power source and/
or remove the battery pack, if detachable, from the
power tool before making any adjustments, changing
accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety
measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and
do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or
these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools
are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e) Maintain power tools and accessories. Check for
misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of
parts and any other condition that may affect the power
tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired
before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained

f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained
cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and
are easier to control.
g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in
accordance with these instructions, taking into account
the working conditions and the work to be performed.
Use of the power tool for operations different from those
intended could result in a hazardous situation.
h) Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean and free
from oil and grease. Slippery handles and grasping surfaces
do not allow for safe handling and control of the tool in
unexpected situations.
5) Battery tool use and care
a) Recharge only with the charger specified by the
manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery
pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.
b) Use power tools only with specifically designated battery
packs. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury
and fire.
c) When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other
metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws
or other small metal objects, that can make a connection
from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals
together may cause burns or a fire.
d) Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the
battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush
with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help.
Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
e) Do not use a battery pack or tool that is damaged
or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit
unpredictable behaviour resulting in fire, explosion or risk of

temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature above 130 °C
may cause explosion.
g) Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the
battery pack or tool outside the temperature range
specified in the instructions. Charging improperly or at
temperatures outside the specified range may damage the
battery and increase the risk of fire.
6) Service
a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair
person using only identical replacement parts. This will
ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
b) Never service damaged battery packs. Service of battery
packs should only be performed by the manufacturer or
authorized service providers.
General Power Tool Safety Warnings

the load on the machine immediately and allow to cool for approx.
30 seconds at the highest no-load speed.
8.7 Temperature Cut Out
If the Impact Driver is constantly overloaded, or the Impact Driver is
used constantly at maximum rating in high ambient conditions, the
battery cells may overheat causing the battery pack to shut down.

environment, out of direct sunlight or any other heat source.
DO NOT force cool the pack in any way. Do not place in refrigerators
or freezers.
When the battery pack has cooled down it can again be used to
operate the Impact Driver, as long as the load or the conditions
causing the original excessive temperature has been corrected.
8.8 Low Voltage Cut Out
The battery pack used on this tool is fitted with a low voltage cut
out feature within the circuitry.
The low voltage cut out feature operates when the voltage drops
below a preset value. This feature automatically stops the Impact
Driver from operating (similar to that of the overload condition).
When this condition occurs you will need to either insert another
battery into the Impact Driver or recharge the existing battery.
The low voltage cut out feature has been added to maximise the
life of the battery cells in the battery. When this occurs, recharge
the battery pack by following the battery charging section in this
manual.
NOTE: Attempting to restart the tool without either recharging
the battery or installing another battery (with charge) will lead to
Impact Driver restarting and then stopping again, after only a few
seconds of operation.

12.FAQ/Troubleshooting
1. REASONS FOR DIFFERENT BATTERY PACK WORKING TIMES
Charging time problems, as above, and having not used a battery
pack for a prolonged time will reduce the battery pack working time.
This can be corrected after several charge and discharge operations
by charging & working with your driver. Heavy working conditions
such as large screws into hard wood will use up the battery pack
energy faster than lighter working conditions. Do not re-charge
your battery pack below 0
performance.
2. WHY DOES THE DRIVER NOT TURN ON WHEN I PRESS THE
TRIGGER SWITCH (2)?
The forward/reverse selector (1) is positioned in the lock function.
Unlock the forward/reverse selector (1) by putting it into the required
rotation position. Push the trigger switch (2) and the driver will start
to rotate.

5. Product Safety
General safety warnings
WARNING: Read all safety warnings, instructions,
illustrations and specifications provided with this power
Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in
tool.
electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your mains-operated
(corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
9
2) Electrical safety
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify
the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with
earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and
matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces,
such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There
is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or
grounded.
c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions.
Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric
shock.

d) Do not abuse the cord.
3) Personal safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common
sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power
tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs,
alcohol or medication.
Carrying
power tools with your finger on the switch or energising power
tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the
power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating
part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at
all times. This enables better control of the power tool in
unexpected situations.

If damaged, have the power tool repaired
before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained
power tools.

f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.
Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit
unpredictable behaviour resulting in fire, explosion or risk of
injury.

f) Do not expose a battery pack or tool to fire or excessive
temperature.

Safety instructions for all saws
a) DANGER: Keep hands away from cutting area and the
blade. Keep your second hand on auxiliary handle, or
motor housing. If both hands are holding the saw, they cannot
be cut by the blade.
b) Do not reach underneath the workpiece. The guard cannot
protect you from the blade below the workpiece.
c) Adjust the cutting depth to the thickness of the
workpiece. Less than a full tooth of the blade teeth should be
visible below the workpiece.
d) Never hold workpiece in your hands or across your leg
while cutting. Secure the workpiece to a stable platform. It
is important to support the work properly to minimise body
exposure, blade binding, or loss of control.
e) Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces only,
when performing an operation where the cutting tool

may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact with a
“live” wire will also make exposed metal parts of the power tool
“live” and could give the operator an electric shock.
f) When ripping always use a rip fence or straight edge guide.
This improves the accuracy of cut and reduces the chance of blade
binding.
g) Always use blades with correct size and shape (diamond
versus round) of arbour holes. Blades that do not match the
mounting hardware of the saw will run off-centre, causing loss of
control.
h) Never use damaged or incorrect blade washers or bolt. The
blade washers and bolt were specially designed for your saw, for
optimum performance and safety of operation.
Further safety instructions for all saws
Kickback causes and related warnings
— kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched, bound or misaligned
saw blade, causing an uncontrolled saw to lift up and out of the
workpiece toward the operator;
— when the blade is pinched or bound tightly by the kerf closing
down, the blade stalls and the motor reaction drives the unit
rapidly back toward the operator;
— if the blade becomes twisted or misaligned in the cut, the teeth
at the back edge of the blade can dig into the top surface of the
wood causing the blade to climb out of the kerf and jump back
toward the operator.
Kickback is the result of saw misuse and/or incorrect operating
procedures or conditions and can be avoided by taking proper
precautions as given below.
a) Maintain a firm grip with both hands on the saw and
position your arms to resist kickback forces. Position your
body to either side of the blade, but not in line with the
blade. Kickback could cause the saw to jump backwards, but

kickback forces can be controlled by the operator, if proper
precautions are taken.
b) When blade is binding, or when interrupting a cut for any
reason, release the trigger and hold the saw motionless
in the material until the blade comes to a complete stop.
Never attempt to remove the saw from the work or
pull the saw backward while the blade is in motion or
kickback may occur. Investigate and take corrective actions to
eliminate the cause of blade binding.
c) When restarting a saw in the workpiece, centre the
saw blade in the kerf and check that saw teeth are not
engaged into the material. If saw blade is binding, it may
walk up or kickback from the workpiece as the saw is restarted.
d) Support large panels to minimise the risk of blade
pinching and kickback. Large panels tend to sag under their
own weight. Supports must be placed under the panel on both
sides, near the line of cut and near the edge of the panel.
e) Do not use dull or damaged blades. Unsharpened or
improperly set blades produce narrow kerf causing excessive
friction, blade binding and kickback.
f) Blade depth and bevel adjusting locking levers must be
tight and secure before making cut. If blade adjustment
shifts while cutting, it may cause binding and kickback.
g) Use extra caution when sawing into existing walls or
other blind areas. The protruding blade may cut objects that
can cause kickback.

handle and make sure it moves freely and does not touch the
blade or any other part, in all angles and depths of cut.
b) Check the operation of the lower guard spring. If the
guard and the spring are not operating properly, they
must be serviced before use. Lower guard may operate
sluggishly due to damaged parts, gummy deposits, or a build-up
of debris.
c) Lower guard may be retracted manually only for special
cuts such as “plunge cuts” and “compound cuts.” Raise
lower guard by retracting handle and as soon as blade enters
the material, the lower guard must be released. For all other
sawing, the lower guard should operate automatically.
d) Always observe that the lower guard is covering the
blade before placing saw down on bench or floor.
An unprotected, coasting blade will cause the saw to walk
backwards, cutting whatever is in its path. Be aware of the time
it takes for the blade to stop after switch is released.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES FOR YOUR CIRCULAR SAW
1. Only use saw blades recommended in the specification.
2. Do not use any abrasive wheels.
3. Use only blade diameter(s) in accordance with the markings.
4. Identify the correct saw blade to be used for the material to be cut.
