Volume up/down

In Music/Video/Streaming mode, adjusts the media volume.

In call mode, adjusts the earpiece or headset volume.

In general mode, adjusts the ringtone volume.

Mutes the ringtone of an incoming call.

In camera preview mode, press Volume key to take a photo.

Power/Lock

Press: Lock the screen/Light up the screen.

Press and hold: Show the pop-up menu to select from

Power off/Restart/Airplane mode.

Press and hold the Power key for at least 8 seconds to power off or hold it longer to reboot.

Press the Power key and Volume down key to capture a screenshot.

1.2.1Set-up

Inserting or removing the Nano/microSD card

A Nano card is required to make phone calls and use cellular networks. If you have a Nano card, insert it before setting up the phone. Do not attempt to insert other SIM types like mini or micro-SIM cards, as you may damage your phone.

Power off your phone before inserting or removing the Nano/ microSD card.

Charging the battery

You are advised to fully charge the battery. Charging status is indicated by a percentage displayed on screen while the phone is powered off. The percentage increases as the phone is charged.

To reduce power consumption and energy waste, disconnect your charger when the battery is fully charged; switch off Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth or apps running in the background when not needed. In Settings you can also lower the brightness of the screen, and shorten the length of time before the screen goes to sleep.

1.2.2Power on your phone

To turn your phone on, hold down the Power key until the phone powers on. It will take a few seconds before the screen lights up. Unlock your phone with a swipe, PIN, password or pattern before the Home screen can display if you’ve set a screen lock in Settings.

If you do not know your PIN code or if you have forgotten it, contact your network carrier. Do not leave your PIN code with your phone. Store this information in a safe place when not in use.

1.2.3Power off your phone

To turn your phone off, hold down the Power key until the phone options appear, then select Power off.

1.3Home screen...........................................

You can bring all your favorite icons (applications, shortcuts, folders and widgets) to your Home screen for quick access. Touch the Home key to switch to Home screen.

Long press to remove applications.

The Home screen extends on the right side of the screen to allow more space for adding applications, shortcuts etc. Slide the Home screen horizontally right to get a complete view of the Home screen. The white dot at the lower part of the screen indicates which screen you are viewing.

1.3.1Using the touchscreen

Touch

To access an application, touch it with your finger.

Long press

Long press the Home screen to access WALLPAPERS/ WIDGETS screen.

Drag

Place your finger on any item to drag it to another location.

Slide/Swipe

Slide the screen to scroll up and down the applications, images, web pages… at your convenience.

Flick

Similar to swiping, but flicking makes it moves quicker.

Pinch/Spread

Place your fingers of one hand on the screen surface and draw them apart or together to scale an element on the screen.

Rotate

Automatically change the screen orientation from portrait to landscape by turning the device sideways to have a better view.

1.3.2Status bar

From the status bar, you can view both phone status (on the right side) and notification information (on the left side).

Drag down the status bar to view notifications and drag again to enter the quick settings panel.

Touch and drag up to close it. When there are notifications, you can touch them to access notifications.

Touch and drag down the Status bar to open the Notification panel to read the detailed information.

Touch to open the Quick settings panel, where you may enable or disable functions or change modes by touching the icons.

1.3.3Search bar

The device provides a Search function which can be used to locate information within applications, the device or the web.

Search by text

Touch the Search bar from the Home screen.

Enter the text/phrase you want to search for.

Touch on the keyboard if you want to search on the web.

Search by voice

• Touch from Search bar to display a dialog screen.

Speak the word/phrase you want to search for. A list of search results will display for you to select from.

1.3.4Lock/Unlock your screen

To protect your device and privacy, you can lock the device screen by choosing swipe or creating a password, PIN or unlock pattern.

To create a screen unlock pattern

Swipe up on the Home screen and select Settings, then touch Security & location/Screen lock/Pattern.

Draw your own pattern.

To lock device screen

Press the Power key once to lock the screen.

To unlock device screen

Press the Power key once to light up the screen, slide to draw the unlock pattern you have created or enter your PIN or password, etc. to unlock the screen.

If you have chosen Swipe as the screen lock, you can press the Power key to light up the screen, then swipe up to unlock the screen, swipe up or double touch the icons on the bottom to enter the applications.

1.3.5 Personalize your Home screen Add

You can long press a folder, an application or a widget to activate the Move mode, and drag the item to your preferred Home screen.

Reposition

Long press the item to be repositioned to activate the Move mode, drag the item to the desired position and then release. You can move items both on the Home screen and the favorite tray. Hold the icon on the left or right edge of the screen to drag the item to another Home screen.

Remove

Long press the item to be removed to activate the Move mode, drag the item up to Remove at the top, and release after the item turns red.

Create folders

To improve the organization of items (shortcuts or applications) on the Home screen, you can add them to a folder by stacking one item on top of another.

Wallpaper customization

Long press the empty area in the Home screen, then touch WALLPAPERS to customize wallpaper.

1.3.6 Widgets and recently-used applications Consult widgets

Long press the empty area in the Home screen, then touch WIDGETS to display all widgets.

Touch the selected widget and slide it to move to your preferred screen.

Consult recently-used applications

To consult recently-used applications, touch the Recent apps key. Touch a thumbnail in the window to open the application.

1.3.7 Volume adjustment Using volume key

Press Volume key to adjust the volume. To activate the Vibrate mode, press the Volume down key until the device vibrates.

Using Settings menu

Touch the settings icon on application list to enter Settings, then touch Sound, you can set the volume of media, notification, ring and etc. to your preference.

Settings > System > Language & input, choose a keyboard under Keyboard & inputs.

2.2 Google keyboard....................................

Touch to switch between “abc/ Abc” mode; Touch & hold to switch between “abc/ABC” mode.

Touch to switch between symbol and

numeric keyboard.

Touch to enter voice input.

Long press to select symbols.

Long press to show input options.

2.3 Text editing.............................................

You can edit the text you have entered.

Long press or double-tap within the text you would like to edit.

Drag the tabs to change the high-lighted selection.

The following options will show: CUT, COPY, SHARE, SELECT ALL, SHARE.

Touch the other words that haven’t been selected or empty place in entry bar to go back without any action.

You can also insert new text

Touch where you want to type, or long press a blank space. The cursor will blink and the tab will show. Drag the tab to move the cursor.

If you have selected any text, touch the tab to show PASTE and SELECT ALL icon which allows you to complete paste immediately.

4.1.1Making a call

You can launch a call by using Call. Touch the

icon on the

Home screen to access the Call application.

 

Slide to access RECENT and

CONTACTS.

Touch to display keyboard.

Display the suggested number(s).

Long press to access voicemail.

Enter the desired number from the keyboard and touch to place the call or select a contact from CONTACTS or RECENT by sliding or touching tabs, then touch to make the call.

The number you entered can be saved to Contacts by touching and then touching Create new contact.

If you make a mistake, you can delete the incorrect digits by touching .

To hang up a call, touch

International call

 

To dial an international call, long press to enter “+”, then enter the international country prefix followed by the full

phone number and touch

Emergency call

 

If your phone has network coverage, dial the emergency

number and touch to make an emergency call. This works even without a SIM card and without typing the PIN code.

4.1.2Answering or rejecting a call

When you receive a call, you can touch ANSWER to answer the call, or touch the incoming call and then:

Slide the icon up to answer;

Slide the icon up to reject;

Select the to reject the call by sending a preset message.

To mute the ringtone volume of an incoming call, press the

Volume up/down key.

4.1.3Calling your voicemail

Your voicemail is provided by your network to avoid missing calls. It works like an answering machine that you can consult at any time.

To access your voicemail, long press . To set your voicemail number:

Long press 1, then touch ADD NUMBER/Voicemail/Setup/ Voicemail number.

If you receive a voicemail, a voicemail icon appears on the Status bar. Open the Notification panel and touch New voicemail.

4.1.4During a call

To adjust the volume during a call, press the Volume up/down key.

Touch to end the current call.

Touch to activate the speaker during the current call. Touch this icon again to deactivate the speaker.

Touch to mute the current call. Touch this icon again to unmute the call.

Touch to display the Dial pad.

Touch to hold the current call. Touch this icon again to retrieve the call.

Touch to add a call.

To avoid accidental operation of the touchscreen during a call, the screen will be locked automatically when you put the cellphone close to your ear; and it will be unlocked when the cellphone is taken away from your ear.

4.1.5Managing multiple calls

With this phone you can handle multiple calls at the same time.

Swap calls

When you accept two calls, touch the icon to switch between the two lines. The current call will be put on hold and you are able to join the other call.

Conference calls (1)

You can set up a conference call as follows.

Place a call to the first participant of the conference call.

Touch the icon.

Then touch the

icon and then touch the icon to start

 

the conference.

 

Touch

to end the conference call and disconnect all

 

callers.

 

 

4.1.6Call settings

Touch from the Call screen, then touch Settings. The following options are available:

Phone settings

Quick responses: Touch to edit quick responses which will be used when you reject a call with messages.

Dial pad tones: Turn on the switch to enable playing tones when using the dial pad.

Fixed Dialing Numbers

Fixed dialing number (FDN) is a SIM service mode, where outgoing calls are restricted to a set of phone numbers. These numbers are added to the FDN list. The most common practical application of FDN is for parents to restrict the phone numbers to which their children can dial. For security reasons, you’ll be prompted to enable FDN by entering SIM PIN2 which is usually acquired from your service provider or SIM maker.

Call duration

Touch to check the duration for your latest, incoming, outgoing, and total calls.

Call forwarding

Touch to configure how your calls are forwarded when you are busy or unanswered.

Additional settings

Touch to use default carrier settings to display your number in outgoing calls.

Voicemail

Notifications

Touch to select notification sound and so on.

Advanced Settings

Touch to select the carrier.

Setup

Touch to set voicemail number for listening to and managing your voicemail.

Accessibility

TTY mode

TTY mode enables people who are deaf, hard of hearing, or speech-impaired to use the telephone to communicate. After connecting the phone and TTY devices that includes a keyboard and a text display mechanism, calls are linked to a relay service, which converts incoming speech to text and converts outgoing text to a spoken voice.

Hearing aids

Touch the switch to enable hearing aid compatibility.

Noise reduction

Touch the switch to enable your background noise during calls.

Quick dial: Touch to add quick dial numbers.

Incoming call Full-screen: Touch the switch enable incoming call full-screen.

Contact settings

Import/Export: Import or export contacts between phone, SIM card, microSD card and phone storage.

Merge contacts: Select duplicate contacts to merge.

Manage account

Manage the synchronization settings for different accounts.

Display options

Sort by

Set the contacts display by First name or Last name.

Name format

Set the name format by First name first or Last name first.

4.2 Contacts............................................

Contacts app enables quick and easy access to the people you want to reach.

You can view and create contacts on your device and synchronize these with your Gmail contacts or other applications.

4.2.1Consult your contacts

Touch to search in Contacts.

Touch to open Quick Contact panel.

Touch to add a new contact.

Delete a contact

To delete a contact, touch and hold the icon on the left of

contact you want to delete, the icon will turn to

touch and confirm to delete. Touch

to select all contacts,

then touch and confirm to delete all contacts.

 

The contact you have deleted will also be removed from other applications on the phone or web the next time you synchronize your phone.

Touch to manage the block numbers, you won’t receive calls or texts from blocked numbers.

Default account for new contacts

Touch to choose Phone or SIM card as default account for new contacts.

4.2.2 Adding a contact

Touch the icon in the contact list to create a new contact.

You are required to enter the contact’s name and other contact information. By scrolling up and down the screen, you can move from one field to another easily.
