This section contains important safety and handling informatio n for DA-300E. Read all safety information below and handling information before using DA-300E to avoid injury. Keep the DA-
300E User Manual for future reference.
Important Safety Information
Failure to follow these safety instructions could result in fire, electric shock, or other injury or damage.
1. Handling DA-300E: Do not bend, drop, crush, puncture, incinerate, or open DA-300E.
2. Avoiding water and wet locations: Do not use DA-300E in rain, or near washbasins or other wet locations. Take care not to spill any food or liquid into DA-300E. In case DA-300E gets wet, unplug all cables, turn DA-300E off, and allow it to dry thoroughly before turning it on again.
3. Repairing DA-300E: Never attempt to repair DA-300E yourself. DA-300E does not contain any user serviceable parts.
4. Avoiding hearing damage: Permanent hearing loss may occur if earphones are used at high volume. Set the volume to a safe level. You can adapt over time to a higher volume of sound that may sound normal but can be damaging to your hearing. If you experience ringing in your ears or muffled speech, stop listening and have your hearing checked. The louder the volume, the less time is required before your hearing could be affected.

Important Handling Information
1. Carrying DA-300E: DA-300E contains sensitive components, including in some cases, a hard drive. Do not bend, drop, or crush DA-300E. If you are concerned about scratching DA-300E, you can use one of the many cases sold separately.
2. Using connectors and ports: Never force a connector into a port. Check for obstructions on the port. If the connector and port dont join with reasonable ease, they probably dont match. Make sure that the connector matches the port and that you have positioned the connector correctly in relation to the port.
3. Keeping DA-300E within acceptable temperatures: Operate DA-300E in a place where the temperature is always between 0º and 45º C (32º to 95º F). DA-300E play time might temporarily shorten in low­temperature conditions.
4. Keeping the outside of DA-300E clean: To clean DA-300E, unplug all cables, turn DA-300E off. Then use a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Avoid getting moisture in openings. Dont use window cleaners, household cleaners, aerosol sprays, solvents, alcohol, ammonia, or abrasives to clean DA-300E.

Starting Up
1. Open the battery compartment cover and insert batteries. Or connect the
USB adaptor to the USB port on DA-300E using the USB cable for charging the built-in battery.
: How to Charge
When DA-300E is unpacked for the first time, please charge the battery for at least 6 hours. Only after the battery is charged fully, DA-300E can be operated normally. Please recharge the battery regularly to maintain properly oper ation or prepare the spare batteries.
2. Connect the earphones into the earphone port.
3. Hold down the “POWER” button for 2 seconds to turn DA-300E on. The backlight will come on and you will
see the ’Welcome to Arion’ logo on the display.
4. During the first time usage or when there is no preset station, DA-300E will be switched into DAB mode and
automatically scan available stations.
5. The list of available stations is stored in alphabetical order, and then plays the first searched station.
